3 home intruders shot dead in Albuquerque
'Hopefully this is going to send a message,' says police spokeswoman

Three men who broke into homes in the Albuquerque, N.M., area in the last month were shot dead by homeowners, and police say they hope would-be robbers take the hint.
The latest incident involved Raymond Gabaldon, 40, a repeat offender, who, police say, stole a car and then tried to break into a home in southwest Albuquerque.
"Hopefully this is going to send a message to people who are breaking into homes," Albuquerque police spokeswoman Trish Hoffman told the Albuquerque Tribune. "They're engaging in very dangerous behavior, not only to the people they're robbing, but to themselves."
None of the three homeowners involved in the shootings has been charged, though the cases are still under review by law enforcement.
An armed homeowner in Charlotte, N.C., also foiled a break-in Tuesday, police there report.
A man told police he was preparing to take out the trash at his home when he realized an intruder was in his house.
The resident told police he went to get a handgun and as he turned around, the attacker struck him in the back of the head. That triggered a fight between the attacker and the resident of the house. During the scuffle, the victim said, he fired his gun once, with the bullet striking the refrigerator.
The assailant then fled on foot.
In Kingsport, Tenn., an armed convenience store clerk yesterday pulled a handgun on a knife-wielding robber, fired once and drove him off with one shot.
And, in Seattle, an armed homeowner fatally shot an intruder Tuesday, according to a police report.
The homeowner was roused from sleep by an intruder. The 31-year-old homeowner grabbed his shotgun and killed Justin Hercyk. That case is still under investigation.
Bravo to the police for not chastising the homeowners!
I miss New Mexico.
Same story different report?
I'm pretty sure this is how the whole gun concept is supposed to work.
Yep. Having that certainly beats having a cop on the phone.
*sigh* I jus' love happy endin's!
Three less votes for Hillary in '08!
And to liberal elitists like Grossie O`Donnell.

"Tom, the average citizen should not be armed to protect himself! Only the bodyguards that I can afford to protect my fat lesbian ass can be!"
I nominate this or article of the year!
WOO-HOO!
Am I reading this right? 3 shot dead? I count one perp, one refrigeretor and the wind
New Mexico just got a little safer.
Paragraph 1- 3 homeowners in the past month.....
Paragraph 2- The latest incident was......
Paragraph 4- The incidences are being reviewed....
The first 4 paragraphs are about ABQ, then it goes on to talk about the rest of the country....
Poor writing,
Police always show up after the fact, never before, or during..
Bag-em first, and Let the morgue skin-em after..
Poor reading on my part too.
But it is poorly written
Check out the link at post #11. That story has a lot more information and is much more clear. Great quotes, too.
That is heads and shoulders above the worldnutdaily article
Bingo
Not always. I can remember when Brian Nickols went on his rampage in the Atlanta court. The police were right there on the scene. He killed a judge, a clerk, and a couple of other officers...... he made them (the collective Atlanta police forces) look like a bunch of Keystone Cops...
Legal, and mfg by S&W some Lib story you have heard.
Actually, thats 3 more votes. Dims already have the dead vote, its the con vote they're trying to seal up.
They didn't help their cause when they tried to serve a drug warrant at the wrong place and got into a shootout with a 92 y/o woman either.
I don't know what goes on in Atlanta, but it seems like intelligence at many levels of government there is in short supply.
Touche!
Makiing a little hamburger at close range.
A picture of the wound should be posted at the local jail for the inmates to see.
Also one was at a store not a home as in the headline. I suspect the incidents in the item were randomly chosen off the police blotter and are not, themselves, related to the headline.A report of all he month's breakins might show the three dead.Alternatively, the headline may have been attached by someone who glanced at the item and saw a killing and that there were three actions mentioned.
Ditto.
>>Three less votes for Hillary in '08!
LOL!!
Three less LIVE votes for Hillary in '08!
"hopefully, this is going to send a message" to the leftist lawmakers who want criminals to break into homes and take money, property and lives of law-abiding citizens.
The message is "don't try to take from us the right to remain alive, to protect our family and property"
It worked in Chattanooga several years ago. There was a rash of "home invasions" until a few home owners took matters into their own hands and left a few 'perps laying dead in the street. I don't recall a single reported home invasion in the past several years.
I, for one, fully realize that just because we hire police as security does not mean that I give up my responsibility or my right to self protection.
Burglars, thugs and naredowells beware! There is a severe lead hazard that exists inside my home. It's up to you to figure out which house is mine, though.....
Being that I was born and raised in Atlanta, I can tell you that you are spot on. Atlanta government is as corrupt as it gets all the way to the core and throughout every department and agency. One need only look as far as how the airport is run to see what I mean....
(...just getting a head-start on the letters-to-the-editor, folks...)
Not once did these people stop, grab a phone, call 9-11, then run to a closet and hide while waiting 10-15 minutes for a patrol car to stop by. No, they just grabbed a gun and -- BANG!!
They killed some poor misguided yute who was likely 'just getting his life together', 'had a job interview tomorrow' and according to his Aunt who was raising him (or Grannie) - 'was a good boy who wouldn't hurt anyone'.
The horror of it all. I hope they can live with themselves now!
If you can't see I'm being EXTREMELY sarcastic, I'm gonna slap you upside your head
Saves the taxpayers $$$$ for incarcerating them.
Actually somewhat true according to the press, unfortunately. One was a paranoid schizophrenic who was lost and thought he was entering his own home. And on the police audio tapes you can hear a lady talking to the cops asking them to hurry and then gunshots.

It's an atrociously written headline that has no relationship whatsoever to the article. Note that the article makes no explicit mention of any deaths in Albuquerque -- it quantum-leaps for no reason whatsoever to South Carolina, TN, and Seattle.
Yeah but nobody is sleeping soundly in court, except for Ruth Bader Ginsberg *rimshot*.
Yep, looks like.
In addition to your commentary, there is always the requisite photograph of the dead perp wearing a blue graduation gown and mortarboard cap snapped at their eighth-grade graduation a decade ago!

The pic that I posted at the top of this thread is the same model S&W 637 that I just purchased for my wife for Christmas. Since I live here in the very gun restrictive state of California, I would have to figure that the S&W Airweights are legal just about anywhere (notable exceptions maybe New York City and Washington, D.C.)
Remember, convicted felons aren't allowed to vote until the day they die. Then they vote Democratic.

I love a story with a happy ending.
Only the fatal ones count.
