More and more of the Evangelicals, especially in blue states, are falling for Aids, poverty, and global warming as the top issues they should be concerned with. Those are the ones that he appeals to. Some of the leaders have even pushed being against the reconstruction in Iraq as the "Christian" thing to do. I cannot help but think this had some effect in 2006.

AMEN !! The "Christian Left" is growing in amazing numbers and under the banner of "social justice" they will embrace Obama's preaching from the gospels of Marx and Engels.

I think you are right. The endless media push about haw "mean" conservatives are is having an impact on weary evangelicals. We need Christian leaders to hang tough and remind their congregations that people who do the truly right thing are often scorned by the world.

The left is doing today to the church what it did yesterday to the state -- quietly infiltrate, and then, change from within.

It's too late to do anything about it. By the time the symptoms appear, it's already past the point of no return.

It's that old social gospel garbage. However Rick is adamant (has repeated in numerous appearances lately) that it isn't. Well then I guess it must be so, because Rick says so! Just like we all know he isn't egotistical/proud because he preaches against pride.

(Look at me, I reverse tithe, ain't I something? I even kept it quiet for so many years, just like Jesus said to. So ya have to believe me NOW...!)
