The Old Media -- (2007), The Same Sick Lowlife Scum As Last Year and Every Year
Free Republic ^ | 1/1/07 | self

Happy New Year (pardon the title of the thread).

I just had to pass this along to all you Freepers and others who may have just come here to FR for the first time to get your mind right.

I had the bad fortune of seeing the ABC Early Morning News twice this morning on the first day of the new year.

Here is how it unfortunately went.

For only about 15 to 20 seconds they spoke of the New Year, 2007.

Then next, IMMEDIATELY, in the very next story they proclaimed the 3,000th death in fighting in Iraq.

Then, the anchor asked the reporter on the "story", "What is the IMPACT this 3,000th dead is having on the troops." (like the anchor gave a damn).

Then, the reporter felt the sick need to volunteer that medical care in the combat zones is so much better now that perhaps because of that thousands more would have been killed and the number would be much higher.

****

P>The socialist/Marxist/liberal media is the most destructive, relentless, and ruthless enemy of this Republic.

****

2007 .............. nothing has changed.

Happy New Year to all FReepers, and may I wish that all of you would find your own personal ways to kill this beast, the old media. Because it is killing this country.

While it is true that the medical care on the battle field is better due to technology and training, it is also true that due also to technology our troops destroy many more of the enemy with less loss of life and property to innocents.

Generals in wars past would have called you a damn liar if you had told them a war between two large armies would have been fought, a country conquered, and cities rebuilt with only 3000 friendly casualties, and in only 4 years. I could see them asking "3000 a month right?"

I watched too this morning as the ABC outlet talked about the legend of Gerald Ford and his healing ways then swiftly turned to how much he disagreed with the war. how the "milestone" of 3000 dead, "and over 20,000 wounded!"

It was so obviously slanted I cant see how most right thinking people couldn't see the intention.

"A nation can survive its fools and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and he carries his banners openly against the city. But the traitor moves among those within the gates freely, his sly whispers rustling through all alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears no traitor; he speaks in the accents familiar to his victim, and he wears their face and their garments and he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation; he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of a city; he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to be feared. The traitor is the plague." - Marcus Tullius Cicero, Roman Orator --- 106-43 B.C.

I know that their numbers are going down, but they lie more aggressively now and there is a large segment of Americans who have little perspective on facts.

It's a dangerous situation.

What is this ABC Early Morning News you speak of?

Isn't there an episode of Spongebob Squarepants on in your time zone? That would be a far more productive use of your time IMO.

Nose in your face

THE NEW POCKET CASUALTY COUNTER FROM THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

Are you freakishly obsessed with the daily casualty count in Iraq? Do you find yourself disappointed when a day or two goes by and no American soldiers die? Have you ever been at a cocktail party and said, "How can we be so damn jovial when George Bush is responsible for a death toll in Iraq that is approaching one-tenth the total of British dead in the Second Boer War?"

If you answered yes to any of these questions, you need the new Associated Press Pocket Iraq Casualty Counter! Now the information you need to make bizarre, extraneous points about the Iraqi War is at your fingertips, 24 hours a day! The Pocket Casualty Counter uses satellite technology to wirelessly provide instant updates on casualties, as they happen. And the Pocket Casualty Counter links the death toll with a historical database to provide you with the factual ammunition you need to battle those crazy neo-cons, on the go! So you'll be able to say, "I hate to be the one to tell you this, but George Bush has now murdered 10 times the number of people who are eaten alive in an average decade by the Spotted Siberian Tiger." Imagine the look of shock on their Christian fundamentalist faces!

Still not convinced? What if we told you the Pocket Casualty Counter can be personally customized, so the latest information can be delivered by your favorite anti-war celebrity? That's right! Who better to tell you that a U.S. soldier has died than Cindy Sheehan? Or Michael Moore? Imagine the dulcet tones of John Kerry echoing from your pocket against a funeral dirge. You'll be the envy of everyone at Starbucks!

But wait, there's more! Act now, and we'll include a free software upgrade to get real-time WOUNDED statistics as well. And since the Pocket Casualty Counter counts SAD and SLEEPING soldiers as WOUNDED, you'll get the robust numbers you need to make killer anti-war points that will leave your opponents speechless!

How can this get any better? Order in the next 30 minutes, and we'll send you, free of charge, the AP Abacus of Dead Iraqi Civilians. Now you can count the murdered innocents of Iraq like an old Babylonian, wailing and crying as you slide the beads of death!

So that's the Pocket Casualty Counter, the free WOUNDED software upgrade, and the AP Abacus of Dead Iraqi Civilians! And you can have it all for just $199.99! But you must act now! Sympathetic operators with multiple piercings are standing by! CALL NOW!

Amazing how this "3000th" death happened right on cue for traitor Media. Last week they needed 47 more deaths to happen in order for this "momentous" occasion to coincide with all the preplanned news stories.
How did this happen? Are they counting the 4 who died in the UK on the submarine?

It's beyond any doubt that the numbers have been fudged just so media could end the year slamming this nation, the troops, and the government, and bring in the new year the same way.

Perhaps we should all make our new years resolution to bring down these traitors and demand that they face prosecution for the crimes they commit, crimes such as publishing restricted national security documents, aiding the enemy, political interference by swaying elections publishing lies and half truths, treason.

Freedom of the press was a right which assumed the press printed the truth, and was unbiased. It wasn't to allow people with power to control the media and shape public opinion with, and worse, allow the enemy to own and publish their propaganda through during a time of war.

"I watched too this morning as the ABC outlet talked about the legend of Gerald Ford and his healing ways then swiftly turned to how much he disagreed with the war."

No he didn't. they sure twisted his words, didn't they? How do they get from he didn't think the justifications used were presented properly, to him disagreeing with the war in general? Lying, traitorous RAT media. They lied and covered up Clintons blunders in Somolia, Bosnia, and Haiti- all of which were disasters which, except for Haiti, accelerated Islamic fundamentalism beyond their wildest dreams, they've never had such good fortune since Hitler. Clinton destroyed Haiti, overthrowing a democratic Pro- American government and installing a murderous dictator. Yet when Bush does the RIGHT thing, overthrowing a mass mursdering ruthless dictator who was well on his way developing weaponry and terrorist networks to deliver them anywhere in the world, destroying a Islamic fundamentalist strong hold in Afghanistan, which CLINTON was largely responsible for establishing, he and this entire nation are demonized by relentless attacks by media and crazy Democrats.

Good morning and happy new year to you anyway.

Things are not going to change over the next two years. The old media will still be trying to reestablish themselves as viable and not biased, while we will be showing they are.

Daily we have battles but the war won't be won in our lifetime I'm sure. The best we will be able to do is win enough battles that we leave a legacy to our children and grandchildren that reflects our will to fight for freedom and liberty, against the welfare state and socialistic dogma that we fight against.

It won't be long before you won't be seeing this crap from the media, at least, for two years. As soon as the socialist's take control of both houses that will be the signal for the DEMSM to stop with those stories because they would be criticizing their own, when they hold the purse strings to stop the war.

You are probably right. I never read the story yet, just skimmed through the headlines quickly. Still, no doubt traitor media used those 2 deaths to justify their glorious number, besides, the sub was probably heading to the gulf anyways, so it's still Iraqi war related deaths, as are heart attacks and accidents and any other non-combat death.

I thought they DIDN'T have control of both houses. The senate is a tie is it not?
They don't have much of a majority anyways, certainly not enough to do much damage. They will need every rino they can bribe. (or re-bribe)
With the spotlight on a closely split house and senate, it isn't a very good time to be a rino. Maybe that will actually work in our favor

If that is such a given... how do you explain the November election? They may not be tuning into the the DBM as much as they did 30 years ago... but they're not replacing it with an alternative. If the last election proved anything... it was that lies told over and over gain... could become truth.

Saturation-propaganda works... with three major networks, a public network and two cable networks pumping out leftist bilge, FOX news is simply drowned out.

how do you explain the November election

No doubt the media gets some credit. But the gains the Rats made in 2006 are nothing close to what they used to be.

From Ann Coulter...

"This means that for Democrats simply to match the historical average gain for the party out of the White House during the first and second midterm, they would have to pick up 67 seats in the House and 11 seats in the Senate. They're about 30 Mark Foleys short of having that happen."

I share your frustration...just trying to be positive.

The MSM may be in the process of self destruction, but their death throes are still deadly to the country. Witness the 2006 election. The MSM pushed back against the bloggers from 2004 victory and elected one of the most anti American congresses in my lifetime.

Watching the media self destruct is actually kind of fun in a perverse sort of way. I like to see them squirm.

The question now will be what congress and President Bush do about the illegal immigrant situation, as well as how he will be able to prosecute the war on terrorism.

Like most, I'm in a wait and see mode.

The problem is that while the newscasts are declining, alternative media is picking up viewers/readers, and it isn't conservative.

A lot of people form their opinions from The Tonight Show, Letterman, The Daily Show, and The View. Add to that the daily dose of liberal news that greets them from Yahoo, Earthlink, and others and you can see we have a long way to go.
