Broncos right cornerback Darrent Williams was shot and killed this morning. After leaving a nightclub in a limousine, Williams was shot and killed near 11th and Grant in Denver. The team confirmed the death of Williams. A female passenger also was shot, according to a source familiar with Williams.
Williams was 24.
"I learned from the Denver Police Deprtment that this incident has occured," Williams' agent, Jeff Griffin said early Monday morning. "No other details have been released. I sincerely offer my condolences and feelings to his family."
Williams was the Broncos' starting right cornerback and played his final game for the team in a 26-23 overtime loss to the San Francisco 49ers that eliminated Denver from the playoffs on New Year's Eve.

My mom used to tell me "Be home by midnight. Nothing good ever happens after that."
How awful for the family and the team.

Until black cultural "leaders" address this culture of guns and rap, this is going to go on. Way too many black teens and early twenties types today dress like thugs, talk like thugs, and move like thugs, until they become...thuglike.
Sometimes this fashion slops over into action. Probably, that's what happened here.
Of course, pointing this out makes me racist.

Denver must not be having that bad weather as the media has been telling us.If there is bad weather and for no other reason he should've stayed home along with good common sense.
To: INSENSITIVE GUY
The worst of the weather hit far south and East of Denver.

I wonder if this has anything to do with the team losing?
I recall that nutcase in Brazil that killed one of their soccer players because they lost a game in the world cup.

It was Columbia. Andreas Escobar, who scored an own goal in their loss to the USA in 1994, was shot dead back home in Medellin a week or two later.

Denver Police say that a car drove next to the Limo, then fired several shots into the car. They are looking for witnesses and need more information.

My guess would be he bumped a guy by accident in the bar (or more correctly, a guy bumped him) and then got in his face (NFL CBs would have no fear and not back down to anyone). He was with a woman which made the hypothetical confrontation more intense for his honor. The guy followed him out to the car and shot him.

To be honest, never saw one of them,

First: A VERY Happy and Healthy new year to every FReeper and their families.
I am delighted to be "out of the loop".
I have no interest in team sports and do not follow them or the individuals that feature within them.
I have never heard of this person, but it appears that he, as many other persons in Sports and the alleged "Music" field are somewhat prone towards catching fatal bullets whilst visiting nasty places.
Seems like a pretty easy problem to solve. Dont go there!
I'm sorry for this fellows problem but more sorry for his family.
Celebs (or all colors and types and gender )seem to do this a lot, dont they?

I can't see how any fan would be ticked off with his performance last night.
On Sunday against the 49ers, he had a sack, a forced fumble, and led the team with seven sacks.
