its very difficult for rape allegations to be proved as it is, unless its accompanied by a severe and unusal beating or caught on videotape, but then again, even video tape proof has not been enough in some cases...
the whole issue and the entire issue in this case is not the so-called rape, its the deliberate and unrestricted use of power by a corrupt prosecutor, who is supposed to serve the PUBLIC, not the victim, and not the perp.....he is there to ensure justice for all....
the stripper is no differant than any other stripper or whore or "exotic dancer" in this country in that if you give them a chance to claim "rape" instead of being booked on public intoxification and having their children taken away, by gosh they'll do it every time.....

60 Minutes has done some good work on this case - but this is such an open-and-shut case of abuse of power that all journalists should be on it like white on rice. It should be impossible for Nifong to show his face in public. And journalism should be shaming the political party of which Nifong is a member so pointedly that members of that party would be heading for the tall grass and supporting impeachment on a fast track.And they would - if the offending DA were a Republican, and the defendants in question were female and/or black. If that were the way of things, every journalist in the country would be doing an impersonation of Edward R. Murrow going after Joe McCarthy.
Schadenfreude. I never really appreciated the nuances of this word until I beheld the burgeoning fallout from this incident. I LOVE to see liberals hoisted on the petard of Political Correctness, racial identity politics, gender determinint feminism and what I have coined as "Tawana Brawley Syndrome".
TBS exists when one takes a historical reality such as the marginalization of innocent blacks within a once overtly racist crminal justice syndrome or the past subjagation of women or any number of other offenses and attempts to apply that to a contemporary situation wherein the objective facts don't apply; ala OJ Simpson, Rodney King, Anita Hill etc.
Nifong was not only hoping to ride to re-election a wave of politically motivated outrage from the Black community over this contretemps, but I suspect that he was seeking to appropriate PC bonus points and obtain instant moral authority by championing the cause of the "other" (marginalized black exotic dancer) against racist male chauvinist members of the privliged white elite. A case of cultural Marxist Class warfare that boomeranged. GOD how I love it so!!!!!

Nifong should be imprisoned for the full term without the possibility of parole for what each of the accused would get if they were to be convicted and the sentences should run consecutively. An animal like Nifong has no business ever seeing the light of day or a public sidewalk ever again.
