The former vice-president of Baath Party, Izzat Ibrahim has been appointed as the new party leader after the execution of Saddam Hussain, according to a statement issued from the party today.
Saddam Hussein`s fugitive deputy Izzat Ibrahim al-Duri vowed that the ousted president`s execution would only strengthen the anti-US insurgency in an internet statement posted Tuesday.
"I call on the valiant commanders of the jihad and the brave fighters in all jihadi groups to strive seriously to create a jihad and resistance front .. in order to destroy the enemy and liberate our beloved homeland," said the statement posted on the website of Iraq`s dissolved Baath party.

Izzat Ibrahim?.......No, that's just another goat.......
Oh yay...why is this guy still breathing?
Since he is hiding in Syria wouldn't he replace Assad as head of Baath?/sarc
Izzat another joke?
The odd looking Red Haired Arab.
Do these folks use a random generator to name their children?
Ibrahim! Saddam's top lieutenant. The only one left who KNOWS what happened to Navy CPT Michael Scott Speicher. We should have gotten THIS GUY already! I want to make him talk first!!!
He takes a Baath whether he needs it or not.
Make him talk? I sure hope your not suggesting panties on his head or loud music or any other such brutal forms of torture? Why we'll become just like them and then even if we were to learn the fate of Michael Scott Speicher it would be a tainted victory. (sarcasm off)
No, silly ones, you treat him real nice just don't let him see anyone...........he'll talk soon enough.
Same reason Al-Sadr is.
Is this guy from the Irish side of the family?
Possibly. The sultans and caliphs of old had a real thing for kidnapping Christian girls into the sexual slavery of the harem. Thousands of Christians were kidnapped all over the shores of the Mediterranean, and some of the Mahometan corsairs went as far north as Ireland and Scotland.
Also, there were well established slave markets throughout Europe and Asia until well into the Middle Ages, so an Irish girl might be sold to a Saxon in England, and she or her children then sold in turn to a Dane, a Russian, a Turk and an Arab.
Moreover, red hair may have its origin in the general area of Iraq. Old legends have it that the red-haired Scots are actually Scythians, who migrated out of the area around the Black Sea, settled in Scotland and then Ireland, and conquered the pre-Celtic Black Irish.
Some kind of Irish or Viking genes found their way over to Mesopotamia, I guess...?
Grrr, makes me livid we have not gotten him yet. But at least this "outs" him as being alive and still on the scene.
St Patrick himself was sold and owned as a slave! From England to Ireland (not involving mohammedans however...).
