Understand - same would be for UK except Susan but that would not have the case at that time as it was very popular but Susan today is probably quite rare in Britain.
I'm not concerned about being suspended, but merely offending the folks who frequent the Dose and clearly have a different point of view. What I have to say on the subject is not important in the grand scheme of things.
Re what you describe of Roger Hedgecock's opinion, I wouldn't go so far as to say the pomp was "obscene." But I would let this question hang out there: If Geral Ford was "great," then what was Ronald Reagan?
Hedgecock also said he felt Ford was more of a 'peoples' president' and the pageantry did not reflect that, in his opinion. I do not believe he was disparaging Ford at all.
I think the FR suspension was more about 'offending folks' who 'clearly have a different point of view', as you put it so well. The FReeper's timing and context was inappropriate.
