My wife saw a report today that said if you have ever had Herpes you are prone to get Alzheimers?

Just get an iMAC...it just works. I converted from PC to iMAC back in August. This is the most fun I've had on a computer in a long time...

I've got an iMac at work. Great machine. The cooling fans are virtually silent. I can only hear them if I put my ear to the casing.

Beware..... I just downloaded this from the site linked in the article and strange things immediately started happening - I sure hope this site and program are legit!! My Firefox browser keeps freezing up and crashing, and asking me if I want to send error reports to Mozilla.... so far (a few minutes) it's the exact opposite of an improved user experience. I'm no techie but what I'm seeing right now scares me. I'm shutting down for the night.

One thing I would think might be useful would be if programs and threads could give the operating system a "justify_memory" callback which would instruct them to notify the OS of all memory they knew about that they owned

I have spun my own pointer-allocation methods on embedded systems. Generally, though, I've not had problems with memory leaks. I do miss the days, though, when one could do a full memory dump when a program started and when it finished, and confirm that there were no leaks.
