KIGALI Rwanda has forced all French interests out of the country after breaking ties with Paris in a diplomatic row over the 1994 genocide.
As a 72-hour deadline drew near for the French Embassy and a French school in Kigali to close, authorities ordered Radio France International to halt its local broadcasts.
The radio has been taken off air in line with the Cabinet decision stopping all activities of state institutions of France, Laurent Nkusi, the Information Minister, said.
Officials posted a notice at the French École Antoine de Saint-Exupéry in Kigali informing parents and pupils of the schools closure.
The Cabinet acted in response to a call by Jean-Louis Bruguiere, a French judge, for President Kagame to be tried for alleged complicity in the death of the former president Juvenal Habyarimana, whose killing is believed to have led to the genocide. Rwanda says that French troops, deployed at the height of the genocide, trained and armed the Hutu Interahamwe militia. (AFP)
Good. Even though governments move slow, I'm surprised it took this long.
Now there's a little tidbit that won't be repeated as often each day on the news as "Bush's Fault!"
I seem to recall some pictures of the Belgian soldiers ripping those stupid blue berets to bits before they returned home as commentary on the utter incompetence of the UN 'forces'.

Perhaps, but the Belgians were also scandalized to learn that their government was complicit in also arming the Hutu's prior to the genocide of 400,000+.
And yet this Eurotrash continues to look down their noses at us and sniff condescendingly about how 'uncivilized' we are.
F' them.

"And yet this Eurotrash continues to look down their noses at us and sniff condescendingly about how 'uncivilized' we are."
Oh come on, credit where credit is due.
The french make good whine. ;)
this is stupid reasoning. So they're basically saying, its not the fault of previous government solders that were complicate in genocide, its this current Rwanda leader. Even if he was indeed responsible for the assasination of previous leader, that does not make him guilty of genocide.
thats like arguing that it was the Jews that were guilty of genocide by provoking the Germans, not the Germansy that were guilty of the act
I started to read the link. They end up saying that the Hutu and Tutsi genocide is the US's fault and that it was a conspiracy to take over Africa after Euro colonialism.
One's no better than the other, as they both spout useless anti-U.S. propaganda that attempts to whitewash Chirac's African genocide.
French troops. Belgian guns. 400,000+ murdered Rwandans.
No doubt the EuroTrash has to scramble to even *pretend* that's the fault of the U.S.
I've seen the higher number too many times. Alan Keyes mentioned the rate and method during the 2000 GOP primary debate when asked about some gun control BS.
