"nasty smear piece"..."people really fear Giuliani since he is a front runner"... A smear would be an exaggeration or untruth. The facts are the facts. If these facts hurt Giuliani, he deserves them as a result of his own actions.

Fine. Write "Bullwinkle" in and give up any scintilla of choice that you had. That's your choice.

Liz was trying to be funny.
As you can see, it didn't work.

There are plenty of presidential candidates who don't treat women like trash.I seriously doubt it.

He cheated on her. That alone is enough where I would never vote for him.Ummm, let's see, the man had prostate cancer, how much cheating do you think he was doing?

Very well said!
The problem is that presidents are generally current or former governors and the GOP really doesn't have any right now. The only remote possibilities were George Allen (who destroyed himself) and Jeb Bush (which WILL NOT happen).
The good news is that the 'Rats really don't have anyone either.

Then we have to educate them. Right now they are associating "conservative" with bribery and addiction to pork and illegal labor. That's why we lost, imo. If we can get a guy to take a stand on the spending, pork, and illegals, I think we'll do just fine.

Very insightful commentary and exceptionally well written (Post #111). [CLAP] [CLAP] [CLAP] [CLAP]

****IMO, Rudy would be fine as Secretary of Defense, National Security Advisor or Secretary of Homeland Security -- basically something that wouldn't be screwed up by his liberal views.****
Right, maybe even Secretary of State. In that position he could use his 'toughness' to great effect.

Bill Clinton. Except he never had the decency or the stones to actually LEAVE.

Clinton has been senator a full term, got re-elected and, let's face it, most people view her as having been the equivalent of a cabinet officer. Obama is not a serious candidate and is only a shield for Clinton during this beauty pageant phase. Edwards will win nothing, Dodd or Biden will do better.

"Guiliani is strong on defense, but on every other issue he is a liberal." I keep reading that here on FR, but I cannot find any reference to his position on national defense. He has never commanded an army. The guy is a gun confiscationist, anti 2nd Amendment. What makes anyone trust him with the U.S. Armed Services?

There is no way someone whose resume only includes "member, US House of Representatives" is ready for the Presidency and will never get elected. Period. The first Republican president, Abe Lincoln...

The problem is that the State Department is so full of leftists that Rudy might become fickle on his only "strong" area (look at Powell, he was a moderate when he became Secretary and four years turned him into a liberal).
