As a quid pro quo to the Sunni Arab states, Mr Bush and Ehud Olmert, the Israeli prime minister, have agreed to work harder to re-start negotiations about a peace deal with the Palestinians. This is so pathetic. Israel and the U.S. pursuing the Palestinians reminds me of a pimply looza nerd who is hopelessly in love with the head of the cheerleading squad. The Palestinians are a lost cause for at least another generation. As Golda said, we'll have peace in the Middle East when the Palestinians love their children more than they hate Israel.

The finding was signed by Mr Bush before Christmas after discussions between his aides and Saudi Arabian officials. Details of its existence, known only to a small circle of White House officials, intelligence officials and members of Congress, have been passed to The Daily Telegraph. I guess Pinch didn't think it was newsworthy, and so gave it to the Daily Telegraph.

Actually, it wasn't the State Department who screwed up the Israelis taking out Hezboallah.
It was the Israelis who screwed up taking out Hezboallah.

Did any of you check out the site theswoop.net? It reads like the State Dept. liberals are putting out their theories for all the world, in several languages.

Per some reports, State was making the decisions and relaying them to Olmert.
Think about it: Since when has the US not beeen directly involved in every Israeli action?
Recall that Rice was initially hands-off (in public), then after a few days, Rice was calling for 'restrraint' by the Israelis. 'Restraint' is State-speak for lay-off now; time for a truce.
If you don't think the US was involved all long, look at the recent Ethiopia/Somali-Islamist conflict.
