I work with a woman whose daughter got on Jeopardy and she got to go out there with her. She couldn't say enough nice things about Trebek.
I was on "Jeopardy" in 1998. There was a snafu that paused filming for about twenty minutes. Trebek deigned to take some questions from the audience. He listened to the first question, then asked, "Does anyone have an intelligent question?" Needless to say, the audience clammed up.
Your teacher is right; Trebek is a pompous a**.
It's a legitimate question and points to the failures of both the Democratic and Republican parties to do the right thing.
"Greatest military heroes"??
Wasn't McCain shot down on his first mission? Wasn't he given a pass through flight school because his daddy was an admiral? Big whoop.
Thanks for that info. He is a little more conservative than the media and detractors are letting on. letting on
Yes, Romney has taken some very conservative positions on illegal immigration issues, especially for an ultra-liberal state like Massachusetts.
Regarding one bullet item from my earlier post #58, namely:
- He is seeking to allow state troopers to arrest illegal immigrants,
Mitt Romney signed a federal-state agreement that would have allowed MA state troopers to arrest illegal immigrants.
However, one of the first actions taken by the far leftist Governor Deval Patrick recently elected in MA was to rescind this agreement (see Patrick Rescinds Romney Immigration Arrest Plan posted on FR).
Nobody should be surprised by Patrick's actions. Democrats are pro-illegal immigration. Anything that conservative voters do, through action or inaction, that improves the chances of electing Democrats will only make the problem worse.
