Why's the Koran in two pieces? Are there two portions as in the Old and New Testaments? Or the Torah and the non-Torah Tanakh (which contains the Torah, plus the other books of the Old Testament).

From the halls of Montezuma to the shores of Tripoli, we will fight our country's battles on the land as on the sea." Hooray for our marines.

With a royal wave to the crowd and smile for Ellison, Stretch Pelosi says, "Welcome to the Hildebeast's plantation. And, you KNOW what I'm talkin' about!"

I don't, but then I am not the one to be influenced by this picture am I? Think now about how a radical muslim would see a great big smile on the face of the most powerful lawmaker in the House of Representatives in one picture with her right hand up and the other being on the hand of the hand that is on the Koran being sworn in as a law maker.
She is giving her blessing no matter how you cut it up and the blessing a radical muslim would take from that is that the Koran is now part of US lawmaking and that the 'leader' of the people's House approves. Thus converted to Allah's ways. They view this picture as one step closer to their goal, don't kid yourself and think otherwise.

Stretch has had so much "work done" that when she smiles, it pulls her chin back to her ears.

"We're self-destructing."
There is absolutely no doubt in my mind. There is also no doubt that I'm powerless to stop it. Liberals hate America and what it stands for. They cheer every time something bad happens to this great country. They won't rest until America is like Britain, once great, but now a footnote in history.
Those that say they would stem the tide of liberals, the Republicans, fear conflict with Democrats. They are generally spineless, and seek to capitulate. Even GWB seems to be in a mood to capitulate rather than confront.
America is doomed. The slide won't always be steep, but it is sure.

Letting a person use a Koran to be sworn in (while they shouldn't have let it be done--opinion) should not be seen by any Muslim--or you--as becoming "converted to Allah's ways" any more than the fact that Jefferson had a translation of the Koran would make him a Muslim.
Opinion: you're extrapolating and drawing this out too far.

"What the heck is this "once owned by Thomas Jefferson..." crapola every time this is mentioned? Is that supposed to make it better? To soothe some feelings? To mainstream this?" Especially interesting since any time any conservative quotes Jefferson, the conservative is labled as some kind of radical.

...translation of the Koran once owned by Thomas Jefferson and held by his wife Kim...Hmmmm...I've heard RUMORS about Tom having a "thing" going with some woman named Kim after Martha died but I don't remember him making this kim an honest woman...
other than that, when is someone going to ask if Ellison is beholden to the Koran over the laws of the US?
