Hagel must be defeated in the next GOP Primary!!!
AP | 1/11/07 | Self (vanity)

Excuse the vanity, but Chuck Hagel has really gotten under my skin. You Nebraska Freepers need to get busy and find a well known Republican in that state to run against this Rino in the next GOP Priamry. I am tired of crap like this from this AP story.

"Republican Sen. Chuck Hagel (news, bio, voting record) of Nebraska told Rice the president's plan was "the most dangerous foreign policy blunder in this country since Vietnam, if it's carried out."

Rice engaged in a tense exchange with Hagel, a Vietnam veteran and longtime critic of Bush's Iraq policy, disputing his characterization of Bush's buildup as an "escalation."

"Putting in 22,000 more troops is not an escalation?" Hagel asked. "I think, senator, escalation is not just a matter of how many numbers you put in."

"Would you call it a decrease?" Hagel asked.

"I would call it, senator, an augmentation that allows the Iraqis to deal with this very serious problem that they have in Baghdad," she said.

Hagel told Rice, "Madame Secretary, Iraqis are killing Iraqis. We are in a civil war. This is sectarian violence out of control."

She disputed that Iraq was in the throes of a civil war. To that, Hagel said, "To sit there and say that, that's just not true."

That's a totally garbage and pointless exchange...reminiscent of the definition of "is".

Hagel thinks he`s going to be the next President. Somebody needs to call him and tell him it ain`t going to happen.

I can't see him being replaced by a Lib..we tend to elect Dems who have a track record statewide (Nelson)and I don't see one of those floating around...

The problem i see is that Nebraskans seem to be a loyal bunch as a whole..but the republicans did bypass the Legend (Osborne) during the governor primary so there is a little hope...Maybe we can get Coach to run for Senate!

I have always thought of the guy as a "mole" sent in by the liberals to win office (as a RINO) in a 'red' state.

I hate Chuck Hagel. A bigger picture also has become clear. republican control of the Congress was sabotaged by liberal republicans especially in the Senate, such as Hagel, Snowe, Collins, Chafee. These people in my view are kooks, although many can only get elected in their states by being liberals. There's a long list of really stupid things they do that are not in the nation's best interests.

The bottom line is the GOP was never as conservative as people hoped, and the conservatives alone did not have the votes.

Brings me back to my big picture pet peeve. By not really attacking the left as dangerous and embarrassing, republicans allowed the democrat party and much of the GOP to drift far left, and that placed the nation in danger when the dems got back in power.

Be careful now.

There are many here on FR who in two years will be telling you that you HAVE TO vote for Hagel because he is a "Republican".

There needs to be an organized effort to get all "RINO's" and any other Republican politician with no gonads thrown out of office. These are the creeps that cost us the November election and gave us this Liberal Twilight Zone of Total Insanity.

I don't understand the mentality of these people. They're apparently unwilling to fight a war under any circumstances.

Better threaten the RNC also. They support him with dollars.

No more dollars to the RNC until Hagel is gone?

IMO, Liberals get elected because the GOP doesn't tell it like it is. The American people need to be educated on what will happen to our country if these creeps stay in office.

I agree completely. We'll lose the Senate for a few more election cycles but at least we'll have a leaner, meaner Republican caucus there.
