WASHINGTON (CNN) -- President Bush's warnings to Iran and Syria to not interfere in Iraq and the arrest of six Iranians in Iraq by U.S. troops raised eyebrows Thursday on Capitol Hill, where senators warned Bush against widening the nearly four-year-old war.
Sen. Joseph Biden, the chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, warned Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice that Bush did not have the authority to send U.S. troops on cross-border raids.

Sen. Chuck Hagel, R-Nebraska, said Rice's responses had echoes of the debate over the Vietnam War, when the Nixon administration denied U.S. troops were conducting raids into neighboring Cambodia to stop the flow of weapons to South Vietnam's communist insurgency. Hagel, a veteran of that war, called Bush's plan "the most dangerous foreign policy blunder in this country since Vietnam." (Full story) "When our government lied to the American people and said we didn't cross the border going into Cambodia, in fact we did. I happen to know something about that, as do some on this committee," he said. "Madame Secretary, when you set in motion the kind of policy that the president is talking about here, it's very, very dangerous."
So who's Senators are stopping Iranian "troops" from crossing the Iraqi borders?

"When our government lied to the American people and said we didn't cross the border going into Cambodia, in fact we did. Exactly, facts don't matter to eggheads like Biden. In fact, I heard those Iranians were in Baghdad when they were arrested. Hardly a border town.

Defense Secretary Robert Gates told the House Armed Services Committee that U.S. troops are trying to crack down on the spread of Iranian-supplied explosives into Iraq, and the administration is "making it clear that those who are involved in activities that cost the lives of American soldiers are going to be subject to actions on the part of the United States inside Iraq."The response from the senators should be Applause followed by the question......" Do you have the funds an equipment you need Mr Secretary?"
Instead these wanna be minipresidents can't get out of their own way. They are so laden with their own self importance they not only don't see the big picture .....they simply don't care about it.
This country could go to hell in a handcart and all they would car about is that they are still in power.

I notice CNN really likes to lay on all the 'titles' when referring to rats like Biden, but when they're talking about the President it's just "Bush".. disrespectful bast@@ds. Biden ought to shut his stupid trap.

The Democrats are going to be put in an extremely uncomfortable position when we take out Iran's nuclear facilities -- they condemn a successful military operation that eliminates a nuclear danger from an avowed enemy of the U.S. at their own political peril. But Biden is stupid enough to do it.

Just as during the Vietnam War, some of our politicians are trying to illegally restrict our military forces to stay within certain borders, while the same politicians are facilitating enemy mobility to attack however the enemy wishes to do so.
It appears that some of our politicians are again working for special interests that are supporting the wrong side.

Stupid Iranians.
Don't they know the trick to jumping the border is to pretend they're Mexicans going to Iraq to pick lettuce?
If they did that, we wouldn't have paid any attention to them at all.

The Democrats' newest version of cut and run is cut and bleed. They'd rather allow our troops to be murdered by Syrian and Iranian interference in Iraq than have us put a stop to exactly that sort of affairs that's breeding chaos in Iraq. So much for their pledge "to support the troops."

FOX has done it also. Couple years ago the news reader Sally something was covering the WH and kept calling him "Bush". I fired off a note to FOX about the disrespect of the Office. Noticed almost immediately that she began calling him by his title. But there are several who do not use the title unless they are talking about Clinton as if *he* were still the president.
Just one of those things that grate on me.

Wow, these "US" Senators are tougher on the Pres than they are on Iran.
Not surprising since none of the cowards as ever done a thing about Iran's kidnapping of US citizens.
What good is a United States Senator, when he protects the enemy?
Whom does he serve?

The only thing that matter to Joe 'the plagerist' Biden is the ability to cut and paste.
