A federal judge has rejected, for now, the effort by a former ambassador, Joseph Wilson IV, to escape testifying in the trial of Vice President Cheney's former chief of staff, I. Lewis Libby Jr. "Since Ambassador Wilson has yet to be actually called as a witness, he has not been inconvenienced, nor can he establish at this time that the subpoena is unreasonable or oppressive. Accordingly, his motion is premature," Judge Reggie Walton wrote in an order dated Tuesday.

In other news:
Bloggers gain access to "Scooter" Libby trial
Internet bloggers will be allowed to cover the criminal trial of former White House staffer Lewis "Scooter" Libby alongside reporters from traditional media outlets, a court spokesman said on Thursday.
Members of a bloggers' association will share at least two seats during the high-profile trial in which Libby's former boss, Vice President Dick Cheney, is expected to testify, said Sheldon Snook, a spokesman for the U.S. District Court in Washington.
The arrangement is believed to be a first for a high-profile court case, although trade shows and political conventions have issued media passes to bloggers in the past several years.
Break out the champagne! Today is THE GOOD NEWS DAY for sure. (Only thing that would make it better would be getting the news that Cindy Sheehan was prevented from leaving Cuba.)
OR they got OBL.
I suspect that Libby's defense will question a variety of reporters about Wilson and what he said to them, and then put Wilson on the spot.
I doubt the defense will have much trouble bringing either the reporters' credibility or Wilson's credibility or both into question. That should pretty much unravel the bogus case against him, and likely make Wilson the defendant in a civil lawsuit rather than members of the Bush administration.
It could also land Wilson in jail. Especially if he misrepresented his trip to Niger or what he discovered on that trip.
He also appeared to have knowledge of classified information he should not have had access to, so his wife might also be risking jail time.
I'm not surprised that he tried to squash the subpoena. However, Wilson is obviously among Libby's accusers. If Libby can't confront him, I don't understand how the trial can go forward.
Altho, nothing on earth can compare with the news that two kidnapped children have been found alive.
LOL......you might have enjoyed this a *little* too much!
And what with Fitz-idiot do if he catches Wilson in a lie?
I want to see and hear Tim Russert under oath on that stand.
Amen. Think of how that mother and father feel tonight!
Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaha!
IF? Wilson has done nothing BUT lie. It will be MOST interesting to see him deny his lies in order to escape perjuring himself. He's in a corner. LOL
He's another one that should be thrown in jail
Another blow to the MSM
BUMP!
Thanks for the ping.
It's a great day.
I wondered about who they would be .. guess we'll have to await their reports. There's this blurb:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Bloggers are part of the media landscape and if we were to ignore bloggers, we would be ignoring reality," Snook said.
Blogging access will be restricted to members of the Media Blogging Association, a trade group that provides legal advice and promotes increased access for its 1,000 members.
While members adhere to standards of fairness and accuracy, they will be free to include political perspectives in their coverage, association President Robert Cox said.
"Our members are not going in there to file wire service copy or be pool reporters -- they're going to express opinions," Cox said.
He said the association has about 12 bloggers set to cover the trial -- some with a liberal perspective and some with a conservative one.
Bloggers likely will file reports throughout the day from an overflow room that will be set up with wireless Internet service, although like other media outlets they will be prohibited from transmitting video or audio of the trial."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Wondered about Jason Leopold, who predicted every day would be a frog-march day for Karl Rove, and found out he is NOT a member of the association .. LOL. I have a feeling he'll still be spinning out his drivel though.
Ahhhhh. The Media Whore Wilson has not been called to testify. Why was he trying to get out of testifying if he has not been asked/compelled?
We need to send an FR representative to blog for us!!!
PREMATURE MOTION PING!
It's only fair that the a**hole that started this mess have to sit all the way thru it. Right Hillary?
LOL...
Fitzgerald hasn't called Wilson to testify. Until he does, there is no chance to catch him in a lie.
Hopefully Libby's defense will call Wilson. Fitz will try to protect Wilson - after all he is (was) Fitzies star witness.
Since Wilson's credibility has been severely compromised, Fitz won't want to call attention to his own gullibility by calling Wilson!
So what are you going to be doing next week, Howlin???
We'll have to send you Care Packages, you'll be parking in front of your television and computer without a break!
I have every hope that you'll have a big ole smile on your face all the while. ;-)

We're gonna squeeze Wilson's jewels...
Poor Joe!!!! He is going to have to get on the stand and lie his butt off. Hope he hangs himself.
Probably nothing. After all Democrats are not held to the same standard as Republicans.
I'm not leaving until Friday and I'm going to take my laptop and wireless card with me; I'll keep up while we're driving down the road!
Probably make excuses for him.
LOL We'll keep in touch with you in shifts!
How long will you be gone?
Five or six days, not sure.
It could also land Wilson in jail.
What GREAT news! :-)
That's wonderful news!
So do I and I want Andrea Mitchell testifying as well!
