A bipartisan slate of lawmakers in the U.S. House of Representatives proposed a resolution calling on the Iranian president to face genocide incitement charges.
The non-binding resolution brought last week to the Houses Foreign Affairs Committee and initiated by Reps. Steve Rothman (D-N.J.) and Mark Kirk (R-Ill.), says statements by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad calling for the destruction of Israel amount to crimes according to the 1948 Convention on Genocide.
The convention not only provides for punishment for genocide, Rothman and Kirk wrote in a letter to their colleagues, but also prohibits ´direct and public incitement to commit genocide.´ It further provides that individuals committing genocidal crimes shall be punished ´whether they are constitutionally responsible rulers, public officials or private individuals.´ Ahmadinejad´s hateful rhetoric calling for the elimination of Israel, a Member State of the United Nations, qualifies as inciting genocide."
So far the resolution has garnered 22 sponsors.
Was that supposed to be in the 100 hour legislative blitz?
Or did they substitute "Ahmadinejad" for "Halliburton"?
Just save a lot of time and energy and nuke the son of a bitch.
Problem solved.

Wow! A non binding resolution! That along with UN resolutions should make the Iranian dictator to surrender!

Second!
"..Iranian president to face genocide incitement charges."
I bet that Ahmedinejad is scared stiff just thinking off the prospect of having to face justice in The Hague.
I know. It's really rather silly.
It needs to happen before that Mahdi mad fanatic nukes our troops in Iraq, Afghanistan or he launches a full scale nuclear war against Israel.
The voice from the House has spoken:
I want you to know I'm.............
on the side of the good guys.......
.............................But I don't really want to get
.............................my hands dirty.
Strikes me that this is a way for the Congress to express their "feelings". Since this is the second one of these I've seen in a week, I suppose we should get used to them. Women in charge and all...
Ooh, I'm getting goosebumps! All we need now is a sheet of paper with Ahmadinejad's signature on it and we can declare "peace for our time"!
