Well, doggone it, my team lost Sunday. The Chargers are out of it, so, I am too. I don't particularly care who plays in the Super Bowl or who wins. I think I'll just go shopping. :-)

But I think it was very considerate of you, Billie, to create a "guy" thread for our guys, and very nicely done too!

Look It Up

READ: Genesis 39:1-12

How then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God? —Genesis 39:9 Some online dictionaries report each year on what words were looked up the most on their site. For 2005, some of the most popular words were refugee, pandemic, tsunami, and levee. Because of worldwide catastrophic events that year, we can readily understand why those words were checked.

The most popular lookup for the Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary that year was the word integrity. The definition given is: “firm adherence to a code of especially moral or artistic values.” It’s used to describe those who are unwilling to be bribed or morally corrupted. Why was that word on the top of the list? Could it be because integrity is so lacking that many don’t know what it looks like in someone’s life?

In His Word, God gave us an example of integrity in the life of Joseph. Potiphar had put him in charge of overseeing “his house and all that he had” (Gen. 39:5). When he was propositioned by his master’s wife, Joseph refused, saying, “How then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?” (v.9). He knew what God’s standards were, and he chose to stand for the right—at the cost of his freedom.

Integrity—look it up in Genesis 39. Then live it out in God’s strength.

For Further Thought
In what ways have I been a person of integrity when it was tough?
When have I failed? Whose standards do I live by?
What do I need to change?

No legacy is as rich as integrity.

Great fun thread ,Billie!
The most exciting game I have watched lately was on tape..Texas Tech in a bowl game They were down 38 to 7 and came back to win in overtime. I have Tech graduates in the family and one grandson attends Tech.

I have always enjoyed football..but despite my Cowboy post..pro ball is something I just check in on nowadays ..I used to attend HS, college and pro games.

Hi Billie
Excellent thread! Here's what I know about football.
This is a football. :) A bunch of guys run around to get it through a goal post for Touchdown. If the guy drops it then it's a fumble, I think. And if the other team catches a pass,... I think it's an interception.

Half time have snacks ready. During SuperBowl, I only get the snacks while the game is on because I enjoy the commercials. Pretty good huh? ;) LOL

Now I'll read the thread and learn something :)
