Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL) has decided to run for president and will file exploratory committee papers later today, Democratic sources said. At 10:00 am ET, Obama will post a video announcement on his website. http://www.barackobama.com/main.php
Somebody in the Democrat party is playing rope-a-dope, and Obama's the dope.
And Obama has accomplished what......?
I just don't understand the media obsession with him. He's nothing! I hope he get trounced in the debates.
These guys fall for their own MSM propaganda nearly every time, I don't get it.
A candidacy based on thin air [not experience] and race.
He's going for it too early. Of course, if he waited the appropriate number of years, he would actually have a record to examine.
Obama has made the fatal mistake of believing his on PR. He's finished.
LOL!! might as well file papers for my cat, then.
Actually you are wrong!
Seriously wrong. But it's a common mistake. He does not want experience. If history is the guide, he has the right amount. Only two sitting senators have become President in our nation's history; Warren Harding and John Kennedy. Both had not that much experience in the Senate. Kennedy had 8 years, but over a third of it he was out with back problems. Harding had six years and missed over 1/3 of all votes not bothering to show up.
Those two are the only Senators ever to win directly. Obama's lack of resume is why he needs to run now. This is his best and only shot of ever winning. He is a putz. But I am just analyzing this through history's lens.
Chauncey Gardiner alert.
Nothing, except schmooze up to the lame MSM.

"I will win, Allah willing."
Obama will soon discover just how vicious the Democrats can be. It'll be fun watching Hillary chew him up and spit him out.
This is the most wonderful moment in the history of earth.
He's a money maker for the Dems
I stand corrected. But in a larger sense, the best thing Obama could do for his presidential prospects is to return to Illinois and be elected governor. (I'm still addressing his lack of "experience").
I have never yawned so hard in all my life.
A Message from Barack
As many of you know, over the last few months I have been thinking hard about my plans for 2008. Running for the presidency is a profound decision - a decision no one should make on the basis of media hype or personal ambition alone - and so before I committed myself and my family to this race, I wanted to be sure that this was right for us and, more importantly, right for the country.
I certainly didn't expect to find myself in this position a year ago. But as I've spoken to many of you in my travels across the states these past months; as I've read your emails and read your letters; I've been struck by how hungry we all are for a different kind of politics.
So I've spent some time thinking about how I could best advance the cause of change and progress that we so desperately need.
The decisions that have been made in Washington these past six years, and the problems that have been ignored, have put our country in a precarious place. Our economy is changing rapidly, and that means profound changes for working people. Many of you have shared with me your stories about skyrocketing health care bills, the pensions you've lost and your struggles to pay for college for your kids. Our continued dependence on oil has put our security and our very planet at risk. And we're still mired in a tragic and costly war that should have never been waged.
But challenging as they are, it's not the magnitude of our problems that concerns me the most. It's the smallness of our politics. America's faced big problems before. But today, our leaders in Washington seem incapable of working together in a practical, common sense way. Politics has become so bitter and partisan, so gummed up by money and influence, that we can't tackle the big problems that demand solutions.
And that's what we have to change first.
We have to change our politics, and come together around our common interests and concerns as Americans.
This won't happen by itself. A change in our politics can only come from you; from people across our country who believe there's a better way and are willing to work for it.
Years ago, as a community organizer in Chicago, I learned that meaningful change always begins at the grassroots, and that engaged citizens working together can accomplish extraordinary things.
So even in the midst of the enormous challenges we face today, I have great faith and hope about the future - because I believe in you.
And that's why I wanted to tell you first that I'll be filing papers today to create a presidential exploratory committee. For the next several weeks, I am going to talk with people from around the country, listening and learning more about the challenges we face as a nation, the opportunities that lie before us, and the role that a presidential campaign might play in bringing our country together. And on February 10th, at the end of these decisions and in my home state of Illinois, I'll share my plans with my friends, neighbors and fellow Americans.
In the meantime, I want to thank all of you for your time, your suggestions, your encouragement and your prayers. And I look forward to continuing our conversation in the weeks and months to come.
He is aiming for the VP
Is America ready for a Communist President with huge freak ears like Osama Bin Obama?
And just why is this empty suit the second coming for the Commie Democraps? I thought Her Thighness had this thing wrapped up.
Oh I just thought of something Obama has accomplished. He confused Josh Belton for John Bolton, during Bolton's confirmation hearings.
I heard this weekend, he will announce on Oprah... this week.
Interestingly, "Page cannot be found".
That, I failed to consider.
Freepers don;t seem to understand the how far Missus Clinton has fallen in the eyes Democrats---and the farther Left the Democrat, the more she is reviled.
I'll bet that Obama would slaughter Hillary in a primary battle.
I'm surprised it wasn't announced on John Edwards' site yesterday.
About as much as Hillary....... nothing
"This is a win win for Republicans."
I hope your right, but if the last election showed anything, it's that there are a lot of uninformed retards out voting for the commies.
(My apologies to any retards. I did not mean to insinuate that all retards are Democraps. Just the severely retarded ones).
Looks like the RAT Party's talent pool has gotten a bit shallow recently.
Hmmmm Why don't we e-mail that to the Hillary campaign! LOL!
So the dems have found their John Edwards for this campaign season........
Unbelievable.. 2 years in the Senate, hasn't done ANYTHING, and he's ready for the Presidency? Uh, excuse me Mr. Main Stream Media... you want to wake up a bit, stop copulating on yourselves over this guy and actually look at him a bit?
...but first, he wants to get his ears trimmed.
Heh Heh! I am actually looking forward to seeing what the Clinton campaign has in store for him. This should be fun to watch!
Any guesses as to how long this MSM creation will last?
If America is in mood to "throw the bums out", then his resumé is perfect.
The world laughs as the US presents yet another ball-less leader. Where is Jack when we need him?
Hillary would never tolerate a VP more popular than herself. He would have to avoid her, or end up in Ft. Marcy Park.
P>Hillary is *hardly* a shoe-in for the nomination.
A Richardson/Obama ticket would be devastating.
The Democrats first candidate for 2008 is an admitted coke head. The American people are not going to give the keys to our nuclear arsenal to a drug addict.
Carpe diem. Seize the day. No one knows what the political landscape will be in 2012 or later. Just one year is a long time in politics and the situation in a later cycle may make it impossible for Obama to compete. He has a chance now, and if I were a friend I'd be telling him to go for it.
Also, "experience" can just as often turn out to be baggage. I don't realistically see how he can make much of a mark for himself as a leader in the Senate during the next four years (the Senate doesn't give much opportunity for glory), but I can see many scenarios where he's forced to make votes or give speeches on a current event that would be an extreme liability later. As John Kerry can tell you.
We have a winner!!!
It's simple. About one out of every three Dems is black or Hispanic. Blacks are the Dems' most loyal constituency. There has to be a black candidate running in the Dem presidential primary. Obama is far better than Sharpton in that regard. Obama will use the primary to become the new face of black leadership within the party replacing the old generation of civil rights leaders.
Personally, Obama will build up a war chest that will help him in future elections and increase his visibility nationally. He could be Hillary's running mate if he performs well. Hillary must insure that she does well in the upcoming SC primary, which has been moved up on the primary election calendar. The first Dem Presidential debate will take place in South Carolina in March 2007!!!. Hillary must get in before then. It will be interesting to see how much of the black vote is siphoned away from Hillary in SC.
Obama is a threat to Hillary because it could split the black vote openning the race up to other candidates like Edwards and Kerry. I think many Dem leaders are afraid that Hillary is such a polarizing personality and energizes the Rep base to such a degree that they would rather have someone else be the nominee. The problem is how do you stop the most well funded, best organized campaign machine, which has Bill Clinton leading the charge for Hillary. She may be unstoppable.
I'm quite certain his aims are higher.
Richardson has about as much chance of winning the Democratic nomination as Mortimer Snerd.
