I agree. His abortion positions alone do it for me. I will write in myself before I cast a vote for him.

Why would any social conservative vote for Giuliani? They could sit at home and get the same thing with a democrat winning.

{A Giuliani nomination would also generate a conservative third-party candidate in the general election and tear the GOP apart}

I doubt if a 3rd party would hand Obama the keys to the White House. If Giuliani is the GOP nominee, conservatvies must setup a conservative 3rd party to aid GOP Congressional candidates. The type of voters that Giuliani attracts are left-leaning independents who will vote for Rudy and turn around and vote RAT for Congressional races. We need a conservative 3rd party candidate to inspire disgruntled conservatives to vote for good Congressional candidates.

I say vote for whomever you want to in the primaries, but when it comes down to the national election I'm going with the Republican even if it does mean John McCAIn.

Either way. I know, I know, a NON-vote for Rudy will put a democrat in the WH. I cannot consciously cast a vote for a man who supports, or supported- depending on the day of the week) partial birth abortion.

Rudy could be elected in the general election but he'll never make it through the Repulican primary process. He'd come in 5th in a 4 man race in SC...anyone who thinks otherwise is kidding himself.

It doesn't matter to Reagan Embarrassment. Republicans devouring themselves, that's all the fifth columnist wants.

Why did all the social conservatives vote for Bush? The lesser of 2 evils?

I like Rudy. Rudy, however, will never be elected POTUS. Never.

Amen to that. I shudder to think how things will go in '08.

I understand your feelings. Here's mine. For me it is more important to keep any of the Democrats who are currently or are about to run out of the White House. I can't indulge myself or my feelings on any one particular issue and let a Democrat win. Rudy is not my first choice but in the end if we end up with him opposing just about any Democrat I can think of, I'll have to vote for Rudy and hope for the best.

Vote for a liberal, you'll get liberalism
Don't vote (D/L). Don't vote (R/L). Don't vote for a letter of the alphabet.
Vote for a philosophy.Vote for a Conservative.

Isn't abortion a state issue? I'd rather see Rudy run before McCain. At least you know where Giulliani stands. Frankly, abortion will always be around no matter how you feel about it. And yes, I'm against abortion. For me it is not the main issue that our country faces. Terrorism comes to mind.

The deciding issue in the primaries will be illegal aliens. Hunter might do better than Rudy.
