Most of NYCity is made up of liberals and most of those liberals are Democrats. Obviously you'll be voting for Rudy should the opportunity arise. That about says it all. In my book, Rudy`s policies don't make him presidential material in the eyes of conservative voters. My post at #177 makes that opposition case crystal clear. So far, Republicans have a weak field to choose from this time around, and choosing the most liberal candidate serves no good purpose. Rudy is just another in a long line of politicos who favor big government. Along with being another tax and spend liberal, Rudy`s outspoken public remarks through the years favoring gun control, an assault weapons ban, abortion on demand, partial birth abortion, special rights for homos and amnesty for illegals is a complete turn off to the GOP`s conservative base. In your world, everyone seems convinced Rudy is the right choice. Outside of NYCity that is a fallacy.

And your conscious? Mine is not a wasted vote. I will sleep well at night. What we got in '06 was a result of abandoning conservative principles.

Look... it won't be Hillary. The Dems won't do it. She was forced into announcing early and she isn't in total control of her own campaign. And Obama??? Please! Who, outside of the Democratic Black Caucus and Hollywood actually believes he has any chance of making it past the first few primaries, if that long. The Clintonistas have already begun to dismantle him via the Muslim allegations.

I am amazed that Republican leadership cannot get together and find one- JUST ONE credible conservative candidate. There are lots of good conservative men and women in leadership positions today. The media will annoit whomever they want as the frontrunner, but it has to be credible. There is NO way that the multiply divorced, pro-death Giuliani will receive credible support from Republicans. I like and respect him in a lot of ways, but not on the one main issue of abortion, esp. partial birth. And I am so deeply connected to the issue of babies and life that a Guiliani or a Hillary presidency will both, in my mind, lead to a "very far left country."

I do understand what you are saying, however electing the next president, to me, will very well shape the Supreme Court for many many years to come. Rudy - Hillary - they are the same.

I will promise you this however-- IF those 2 are the nominees, I will strongly re-consider my vote. You may want to bookmark this thread to remind me. (-:

I don't think the many Republicans who stayed home in November really considered how much of an effect THAT act had on the future SC. Everything hinges on 2008.

That's funny, I thought the "one main issue" in this election was the WAR ON ISLAMIC FASCISM.

I am pro life, but if that is the opinion of most conservatives, we are in big trouble.

That is not true. As you will soon learn, Rudy would appoint strict constructionists to the SCOTUS.
