2007 Louisiana Governor's Race
Grassroots Conservative Majority ^ | 1/10/2007 | Ed Sistrunk

According to Survey USA Governor Blanco current approval rating is only 39% SurveyUSA - LA Gov with 58% disapproving and 2% not sure. But she will be a formable candidate with atleast 2.5 million dollars setting in the bank for reelection. Early polls show Jindal leading her by 32 points (52-20). Others Republican's interested in the race are also brainstorming the state to get their message out. LA State Senator Walter Boasso has a great slogan “Get it done Louisiana” and John Georges focuses on the rebuilding efforts of the private sector and non-profits and levee reform and his slogan is “Change Louisiana”. The only candidate mentioned that has won a State wide office is Secretary of State Jay Dardenne (2006). He was elected when his challenger withdrew about two weeks into the runoff. Dardenne receive 30% of the vote in the primary.

Chocolate, vanilla, whatever...
The French Quarter is still going to remain Tutti Frutti.

I see corruption, more corruption and a state where Ray Nagin and William Jefferson were comfortably re-elected to office. The Dims will spread out all over the country, hog tie their "peoples" and drag them back kicking and screaming to New Orleans if that's what it takes to put Governor Meemaw back in office.

Blanco-mind has the kind of tarnish on her that money can't remove. Jindal should have a fairly easy time kicking her out.

I agree she is toast. But Louisiana has a tradition for underdogs. Don't under estimate the others Republicans in the race.

Louisiana's open primary system can easily allow 3-4 conservatives to split the vote.
