But Jenny Grandstand's opponent never polled over 50%, even when he was in the lead.

59%? Put a fork in Blanko, she's done

"Just wait awhile, gov. first then the presidency."

I like the sound of "President Jindal"

But Governor of Louisiana will do for the moment...

Nagin crossed party lines and endorsed Jindal for congress. He irked a lot of his fellow party members. By the way, for all his faults Nagin is no idiot.

I agree completely. He is the only politician that I have ever contacted and received a reply from that was about what I had asked. One of my closest friends has known him since he was born and gives him the highest marks for having his head screwed on straight.
Sen. Vitter told his wife after interviewing Jindal for the Rhodes Scholarship that he had just met a young man that was so bright it was scary.

Blanco beat Jindal in 2003 largely by appealing to the racism of the voters - she painted him as a little brown heathen "furrner", and it got her into office (the media, of course, was absolutely silent about this). She'll bang that drum even louder this time, and of course the media will still cover for her by ignoring it.

There's simply no way that the democrats will allow themselves to be shut out of the Louisiana state house, not with the billions in reconstruction money flowing into the place. They will bring every big gun they have to LA to campaign, relocate all of Hollywood, hit their nutroots and big money supporters up for millions upon millions of dollars and file endless lawsuits to allow them to basically solicit the entire country for phony ballots that will be accepted with no scrutiny, in the name of "letting our people vote."

It's not just the money at stake for them, even though that's more than enough to make them fight tooth and nail. If Louisiana elects a Republican governor, it takes a lot of air out of their "Katrina is the all the GOP's fault" argument. How do they credibly claim this if the voters react to the aftermath of Katrina by electing a GOP governor? They can't afford to lose that propaganda weapon.

IMO, at the end of the day, Blanco will be re-elected. All she has to do is peel 10-15% of Jindal's support away, and that's probably do-able by playing the race angle again, and by tying him to President Bush. I'm not normally this pessimistic, but after seeing Ray Nagin and William Jefferson re-elected, I don't have much faith in the voters in Louisiana any more.

If he does that again, Jindal's doomed for sure.

Lol, you do not have much of a clue on the demographics in the area both of those men occupy do you? That is not Louisiana, that is New Orleans, where the voters vote skin color rather than qualifications.

Well I hope the voters of LA learned their lesson, somehow I doubt it...

My family came to Louisiana in three waves starting in the 1750's. All the smart ones came to Texas after the War of Northern Aggression. I suspect you are correct and Blanco will be reelected. Sad isn't it.

Enough of the rest of the state voted skin color in 2003 to put Blanco in office - her campaign made sure of it. And I'll just bet that a comfortable majority of New Orleans voters cast their ballots for her in spite of the color of her skin. Why should this go around be any different?

I'd like to proven dead wrong about my prediction that Blanco will be re-elected. But I don't think I will be. If Jindal were polling 60+ percent, I might give him a chance. But he's not, and his numbers now have nowhere to go but down.

If Blanco is re-elected then we might as well sell back Louisiana to the French.

I believe the only reason she won last time is because her maidan name was Babinauex(sp).

"Why would this go round be any different?"

Louisiana has 250,000 fewer residents for one.

This is the first poll taken and he is already at 59%. Lol, you want 60% or over to feel comfortable? Lol, last time I checked 59% was pretty damn close to 60% unless you are an advanced mathematician and are applying Zeno's paradoxes. Jindal will be elected as Governor of Louisiana.
