Dogs aren't a good idea. It doesn't seem Bigfoot likes them. From BFRO reports I've read most dogs will usually cower or retreat when they sense their presence. There are reports from people in WA who have woken to discover the dog they left outside for the night was taken from its cage and torn to pieces.

Combining eyewitness reports with Native American legend gives the impression that Bigfoot is the apex predator of the wild. People have reported being stalked and the use of whistling and clicking of rocks to lure them away from their campsites. They've also been reported to throw large rocks, bang logs against trees and shake trees, etc. to split up a group of hikers or herd them out of an area. There are also people who went on a solo camping trip and disappeared.

I lived in Camas and Washougal, WA (adjacent Skamania county) from 02 - 04 and I heard these things screaming on 5 occasions. I also had a rather unnerving experience inside Gifford Pinchot national forest once. Those experiences aren't something one forgets.

When I get out of Iraq I'd like to drop about 20K on thermal imaging and audio equipment and take a survey inside Gifford Pinchot National forest. I believe there may be a permanent colony there on the southern edge near the headwaters of the Washougal river. I have no doubt this creature will eventually be officially 'discovered' it's just going to take some good equipment and tactics to obtain the necessary proof.
