Again I ask, how can one be a liberal and a Christian at the same time.

The Methodist denomination is pro-choice. There's one close by and would be convenient for us, but we drive to a church in the Wesleyan denomination about 15 min away because it's conservative and pro-life. It was actually difficult finding a Protestant church that's pro-life.
To: Dr. Scarpetta
I hadn't known that, Dr. Scarpetta. What a shame.
I still think it would behoove churches to stay away from politics altogether, but I guess in today's day and age, it's increasingly difficult and irresistable.

We were members of the Presbyterian USA denomination until we found out that pastors and their families get abortion coverage in their medical plan. (even for partial-birth abortion)
When we decided to leave, we learned that the Methodists, Lutheran, United Church of Christ, etc. all are pro-choice. We have to drive by several churches to get to our Wesleyan church.
To: LA Woman3
I doubt if John and Charles Wesley would recognize the United Methodist Church as a part of thier vision.

I just started last year going to a conservative Anglican church and we love it. A lot of people have left the town's Episcopal church for a variety of reasons and our little congregation has grown substantially. I'm so happy there!
Have to go get ready for dinner out. Bbl

Rough week for me as a member of the UMC.
First, I learned of the UMC amicus brief in the Webster case.
Next, I learned that the UMC is a member of the pro-abotion group "Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice."
Now this.
I'm at an utter loss for words.

The Methodist Church....
...where politicians and liberals go to pretend to be Christians.
I thought President Bush was a Methodist?
Ahh yes,
here it is.
So, you are saying Bush is pretending to be a Christian?

The Methodists don't want his library? Fine put it at Baylor, it's still not far from Dallas-Ft. Worth, much closer to the "The Ranch", and a much nicer environment, on the banks of the Brazos River. It would be nice if they could put it near the
Texas Ranger Hall of Fame & Museum. They have a nice gun collection, including some of the BARs used in the Bonnie and Clyde affair. But I don't think there's room to very near the Museum, which shares the building with Ranger Company "F", Capt. Kirby Dendy, Commanding.

Under the current Iraqi Freedom spot it says "invasion of Iraq" instead.... That would be OK if it also says "Invasion of Europe" around June of 1944. We do speak of the Normandy Invasion, although recently "Normandy Landings" has become more common. I believe the headlines for June 6, 1944 Said "INVASION", in type so large the single word went clear across the page in some cases.
The New York Times Headline read:
ALLIED ARMIES LAND IN FRANCE
IN THE HAVRE-CHERBOURG AREA;
GREAT INVASION IS UNDER WAY
