The heated controversy at ABC's top show, "Grey's Anatomy," boiled over Thursday as the network rebuked co-star Isaiah Washington for an anti-gay comment and Washington issued a lengthy apology.

Sometimes when I see the kind of BS generated after Mr. Washington's comments, I can't help but wish that some of the faggots you mention were not of the wooden variety.

I gather from all this it's also inhuman and ideally illegal to say "no I didn't call someone a nigger". Wait, it'd be ok for washington to call someone a nigger, cause he's black. Similarly "fag" or "faggot" is a term of affection among gays - at least it was in Australia when I lived there, in Sydney you can't avoid them. So presumably it would have been just fine for T.R. Knight to (say) call Washington a faggot... but not a nigger, cause T.R. is white...!?!

Now I really have confused myself. Time to put my head into a bucket of cold water again, and hope it's all gone away when I come back up.

Hmmmm, I don't recall ABC apologizing for Rosie and Co. hateful rants about Christians, Chinese Americans, Republicans, calling Rumsfeld "Hitler", calling Bush every name in the book, coddling drunks and admitting to lying on the air.

Leads one to the conclusion that ABC must support all of that or they would send out an apology.
