The Russians say the Chinese are lying. The Chinese are saying they can knock a satellite out of space with a rocket booster or two and a kinetic energy weapon.

The Democraps want to limit or destroy the United States' capabilities to create a Missile Defense that will protect us from incoming nuclear weapons.

What a pain... what should I do? I plan on continuing to prepare for the worst, because I expect it, and HOPE Americans wake up soon to the Looney-Leftists Legions of Losers and take them the hell out of power.

IF America continues on the path we're on, it's a path of destruction and we will have allowed it to happen. Shameful.

Yes, but it's in an 'anti-bunker' and we don't have the right anti-anti-bunker devices to get to it

The only militarily relevant satellite in orbit is the moon and the Americans will be there a long time before the Chinese or Russians

Because of limitless solar power, deploying space-based laser defense systems should be no problem. Signs point to "YES" on the next WW3 Axis of Evil preparing to attack us. The good news is, the bad guys lose. The bad news is, we can prevent this from ever even occuring but won't 1/2 our country are hedonist, self-absorbed people who don't give a damn about their fellow countryman.

I would discount this report from a Russian official. In this case the NYT has more creds.

"Even if they are over the equator (as stationary satellites need to be) how will you protect them so far from US territory?"

That is "line of sight" thinking as though you are defending it with a fence or a gun. A machine in space will not see it like that. You see the other way to look at it is how could China protect their satellites when they are anywhere but over their country?

When taken in a 3D perspective I would suppose that the area where our satellite is not visible is actually no where.

The Russians say this is a rumor?

So? The Russians are probably cheering anyway.

And what would be involved in such preparation? Developing/inventing new techniques to destroy the satellites?

Developing communication and observation systems that do not require sattelites at all.

One thing to do is to include backup guidance methods, such as how the B-2 can navigate by the stars if the GPS satellites are knocked out.

Another thing is to develop countermeasures, such as dummy satellites, orbital defense technology, etc.

Obviously, this is not merely short-term, and we need to start now.

I do, however, think that it doesn't bode well for the future progress of man to be unable to build something great like a space elevator without fear of it being easily destroyed.
