AMS CERTIFIED WEATHERMAN STRIKES BACK AT WEATHER CHANNEL CALL FOR DECERTIFICATION
James Span Blog, Drudge, others ^ | 1/18/07 | James Spann

Well, well. Some “climate expert” on “The Weather Channel” wants to take away AMS certification from those of us who believe the recent “global warming” is a natural process. So much for “tolerance”, huh?

I have been in operational meteorology since 1978, and I know dozens and dozens of broadcast meteorologists all over the country. Our big job: look at a large volume of raw data and come up with a public weather forecast for the next seven days. I do not know of a single TV meteorologist who buys into the man-made global warming hype. I know there must be a few out there, but I can’t find them. Here are the basic facts you need to know:

*Billions of dollars of grant money is flowing into the pockets of those on the man-made global warming bandwagon. No man-made global warming, the money dries up.

The mere fact that they are silent about the United States having more hydrocarbons in the form of coal than the Saudis have in the form of crude oil, helps us connect the dots to an agenda that has little to do with energy and far more with command and control of governments and citizens.

You give them too much credit. I think they're too stupid to have an agenda.

These people believe what they're told to believe.

Given the wide diversity between what meterologists project for a seven day forecast from the raw data and what the weather actually does in those seven days, I find it laughable that some of these so-called "scientists" think they can even estimate with any degree of accuracy what the weather was like centuries ago and what it is going to do over the next several years.

Past climate can be estimated from forensic information (tree rings, pollen in soil layers, et cetera). So that's actually pretty solid.

Future climate is something of a mystery, as predicting it depends on assumptions that may be overriden by reality at any moment.

You might want to ask him:

If Global Warming is caused by human activity/industry/Big Oil, what caused the ice age and the warming afterwards, and all the warm/cool cycles before then?

If Global Warming is caused by humans, why are Mars and other planets also experiencing a warming trend?

Yes, but the claims about global warming and especially global warming vis a vis "greenhouse gasses" or carbon emissions would depend on the accuracy of those estimates. If those estimates regarding temperatures from centuries ago are off by 3 or 4 percent due to changes in other variables that weren't included in the models, then the claims about global warming become more dubious, and the extrapolations and trends predicting continued warming as a result of human activity are pure fantasy.

I had to laugh the other night when the local (Sacramento, CA) weather lady was discussing the snow in Malibu. She started to go into some silliness about global warming isn't really gloal warming per se, its about extreme highs and lows, and that its real, and snow is somehow an example. She didn't get very far before they cut to a one shot of the anchor and turned off her mic mid-sentence.

And how much of that money flows back into the campaign coffers of politicians? Snowe and Rockefeller, come to mind.

I said the same thing to my husband and and added it must be those martians driving SUVs and using AquaNet. He insisted that Bush/Cheney were ruining the planet. Ugh!

Stalinists politicize everything, even the weather, to get what they want.

There's no doubt in my mind that the environmental movement was highjacked by socialists. This is about power and control. Human-induced climate change is like a religion to these enviro-fascists and questioning their superior wisdom is not to be tolerated. Heidi Cullen and others of her ilk have no problem using cohersion to silence dissenters. Don't try to confuse them with the facts! :-)

It used to be a faux pas to discuss religion or politics
at a party. I guess now we have to add the weather to the list!

Bingo. Makes me want to go back to school for a meteorology degree - one job where you can be wrong a lot, and still keep your job. :)

I think it was Gorbachev who said something along the lines of "the green Movement will give us global socialism" or the tools to achieve global socialism, or something.

Search on his name- he has two or three entities in the USA that mostly work with enviro issues.

I've long suspected that he's the driving source behind lots of enviro stuff, but like the CP in the '30s it's way below the radar.

For sure, just like the "peace movement" was founded by socialists and communists in the early 1900's. Here's and excerpt from answers.com:

"Not until about 1900 did several parallel social movements against war and militarism and for pacific inter-nationalism emerge. These included organizations such as the American Union Against Militarism, the Emergency Peace Federation, and the Women's Peace Party, all formed after 1914 to keep the United States out of the European maelstrom. Together with socialist and syndicalist agitation, this represents the first genuine peak of mass peace and antiwar movement activity (1900–1915). Yet with the exception of Jane Addams (who was a key founder of the Women's International League for Peace and Freedom in 1920) and Eugene Debs, head of the Socialist Party, there were no prominent founders of the movement, although Randolph Bourne, Norman Thomas, and Emma Goldman were important critics of war. Out of this activity emerged such organizations as the inter-denominational Fellowship of Reconciliation and the largely secular War Resisters League. This activity also spawned the U.S. Communist Party with its ever-shifting peace fronts; the Communist Party's relationship with the peace movement was problematic and often disruptive, though undoubtedly individuals held genuine antimilitarist views. A. J. Muste, who later became a major pacifist leader, was an active Trotskyist in the interwar years."

As I stated in my previous post, it's all about control and power for these people. They use "movements" for their own nefarious designs and have plenty of useful idiots to assist them and repeat their mantras. :-)
