Bill, what's there to wonder about? Take them at their word: THEY DON'T!!!!
They have fought the President just about every step of the way since 9/11, on Afghanistan, on Guantanamo, on actions taken domestically to stop further attacks, and on Iraq. I no longer pay attention to their constant carping. It's just a shame that many Americans still do. To hell with them and to hell with any patriot or Republican that stands with these treasonous poisonous politicians who see their own political future as over-riding any other concern.
WHAT????!!! Juan is an ass! Way to go Britt in responding to his nonsense.
The Democrats don't exist in a vacuum. Far from it. They understand that a large percentage of American voters don't particularly care if we win or lose, just so long as we leave. The only reason the Democrats are moving to capitalize on this is that the base sentiment exists in large quantity. Blaming them is easy. They're opportunistic politicians. It's what they do.
The real point of concern should be the vast number of Americans whos' support of a complete withdrawl makes the Democratic positions politically viable. If the war was still popular, the Democrats wouldn't utter a peep against it, like in 2003. So, blame the Democrats all you want, but it's our fellow Americans that allow their mentality to thrive.
I agree 100%. It's easy to despise Dem leaders, but it's sobering to realize they reflect the sentiments of half our population.
You are correct. The Iraq war did not start this Bush hatred. It existed all along. The Ds did not really want the Afghanistan war either but knew it was overwhelmingly supported at home so they switched their tactics to trying to get Bush on Enron and Harkin. This was happening by December, 2001. The Ds are who they have always been. They cannot support military action in any serious way, especially if it becomes difficult and certainly not if it becomes unpopular. When we vote them into power, we have to live with that as the result. It is very dangerous in today's world.
The only time they support use of the military is in peace-keeping or policing operations. They'll tout Clinton's intervention in the Balkans as a success and an example of how the military should be used.
It's just a damn shame that such idiots have political power. If I voiced my treue sentiments about what we shoud do with them I'd be banned!
Good On Brit... Got to love the way he bitch slapped Juan Williams...
Daggone you gotta like Brit Hume. Smart fella.
Brit Nailed It!!
The Dems want Retreat and Defeat of OUR military
Krystol and Brit havd this thing exactly right and it's high time people start saying it...over and over and over and over!!!!
It's about time someone said it out loud.

From Publishers Weekly
When Bill Cosby addressed a 50th-anniversary celebration of Brown v. Board of Education, he created a major controversy with seemingly inoffensive counsel ("begin with getting a high school education, not having children until one is twenty-one and married, working hard at any job, and being good parents"). Building from Cosby's speech, NPR/Fox journalist Williams offers his ballast to Cosby's position. Williams starts with the question, "Why are so many black Americans, people born inside the gates of American opportunity, still living as if they were locked out from all America has to offer?" His answers include the debacle of big-city politics under self-serving black politicians; reparations as "a divisive dead-end idea"; the parlous state of city schools "under the alliance between the civil rights leaders and the teachers' unions"; and the transformation of rap from "its willingness to confront establishment and stereotypes" to "America's late-night masturbatory fantasy." A sense of the erosion of "the high moral standing of civil rights" underlies Cosby's anguish and Williams's anger. Politically interested readers of a mildly conservative bent will find this book sheer dynamite.
Thanks for posting this. I do think Juan is a very decent person, even though I obviously disagree with most of his political positions.
