Race was brought into the game immediately after the Bears-Saints game. I thought the whole idea of having a color blind society was not to look at the skin color but the person. It seems it is the media that can't get over it.
As a side note, I know I should not do the QB is dumb schtick, but every time I look at Rex Grossman, to me it just seems he is lost out there. Like yesterday, trying to call back-to-back timeouts and just before the half, he's leaving the field and then is told to get back in the huddle. I am pulling for the Bears strictly because of their defense. The Colts have the better offense.

I wouldn't presume to speak for either man.
You'll have to ask those two people what part He played.

I thought the same thing last year. I could not imagine trying to prepare for a game when your son has died.

Actually, Chicago would be O.K... (( IF )) it wasn't so close to Detroit..
Detroit is such a sewer on a hundred levels..

I remember when people believed that blacks couldn't play QB in the NFL becase they weren't smart enough. When they started playing QB, people said they would never take a team to the SuperBowl. When Doug Williams did it, they said they could never coach an NFL team.
So much for popular wisdom

You'll have to ask those two people what part He played. Nah. I really think that God Almighty has more important things on His mind than the fate of the Indianapolis Colts. But it does bring up an interesting question: If the win yesterday was the result of His work than were all the playoff losses in the past due to His intervention too?
To: labette
In a way, this might be a good thing for the teams. The press will spend the next two weeks in a collective orgasm and concentrating on the coaches, that maybe they will leave the players alone. That way, both teams can concentrate on winning. I think this is going to be a great Super Bowl.

Perhaps they were referring to the role He plays in their personal lives, and the peace of mind and soul His guidance gives.
Perhaps.

Also, do not forget Steve McNair - who came one yard away from winning.

Now, if we could just get an all-African American referee squad to be the first all-African American referee squad in the Super Bowl. And then maybe an all-African American cheerleading squad to be the first all-African American cheerleading squad in the Super Bowl..... Hey! I know! How about....
Seriesly though, when they mentioned the coaching thing, It never occurred to me to think along the color lines. Congratulations to them, and congratulations to me for not caring whether the players and coaches are black or white.

Perhaps they were referring to the role He plays in their personal lives, and the peace of mind and soul His guidance gives. Well then if I were Irsay and given the reason why his family moved the team from Baltimore I'd be worried about divine retribution. If I recall correctly greed is one of the seven deadly sins.

I live here in Indy. I am thrilled for the Colts and for the fans here.
YEAH COLTSA little note to those who seem to have a problem with the Colts crediting God...I don't think the Colts were crediting God for their win in a literal sense. It was more like they were giving credit to him for keeping them focused mentally and helping them keep the faith, win or lose.
By the way, I also want to say we were cheering for the Bears earlier. Should be a great Superbowl!

I didn't know that Tony Dungy and Lovie Smith were from Africa. Why that is remarkable. I don't think they even play American football there!

Belated congratulations to the Colts from a Pats fan. Both teams played well, with the Colts being the better team yesterday.
I hope Manning wins his Super Bowl so we won't feel guilty about knocking him out of the play-offs next year. 8-)

It was awesome how the Colts contributed the victory to God.Yep, God gave the points and took the Colts. He had to sneak into the sports book in Vegas though so no one would recognize him and realize the fix was in. The Big Guy made a killing on this one.
Who do ya think he likes in the Super Bowl?

"I'm in Tampa Bay and what we all said tonight was that Dungy proved it was Dungy's team that won Superbowl bowl XXXVII. Dungy would have been with the Bucs 5 years at that point (except the Glazers had dumped him the year before.) Now Dungy has been with Indianapolis 5 years and they're going to the Super Bowl. Dungy is a class act and I'm glad to see him finally make it to the SuperBowl."This Tampa Bay resident agrees wholeheartedly with your statement! Go Colts!

Its kind of funny. After years of living with Pats teams that sucked and the Red Sox, it is kind of nice to have people expressing the same disdain for the Pats and Belechick that WE usually reserve for the Yankees. I like it.

It was more like they were giving credit to him for keeping them focused mentally and helping them keep the faith, win or lose. So where's He been the last few years?
