My only guess would be that ABC "News" is revealing this as a misdirection aid for the Insurgents. Be warned.
The question is, when have they NOT been planning an attack on U.S. soil? ABC is getting in a dither about some documents in Iraq, and behind the scenes, we've probably broken up more of these planned attacks here in the last few years than we probably care to know.
Eventually, some loose cannon is going to break away from the Al Qaeda apparatus, get a couple people, and do it on their own.
The natives on Fiji could plan an attack on the US. I suppose the Chicken Little types here would see that as a good reason to attack Fiji.
Mark my words: Now that the Democrats are back in power, they will be every bit as driven as the outgoing pubbies to plow under any vestiges of freedom in this country in the name of protecting us from outside threats. This is nothing more than ABC warming up the bullpen for them.
Are you kidding? Of course this will be their response. Haven't they always reasoned this, that we caused everyone in the world to be mad at us by our very existence!
This appears to be the first hard evidence al Qaeda in Iraq was trying to attack us here at home," said ABC News consultant Richard Clarke, former chief counterterrorism adviser on the U.S. National Security Council.
We will never know that considering Berger destroyed a bunch of documents
And they'll say it's his fault for getting all those nice terrorists in Iraq mad at us.
At this point, the cat was out of the bag. The article goes on to state that ABC dug deeper and had some anonymous sources. They're just as bad, in my opinion. But in this case, the word was already officially out, just not the details.
>>>So we're relying on college employees to keep track of terrorists? Great.
It's worse than you think - the ones actually doing it are probably work-study students... :)
I can't cite a source but I remember hearing about this sometime earlier in the year. I don't know why people would be surprised by the news that Al Quaeda wants to attack the continetal US, though.
Plans, schplans. Everybody's got plans. When they really hit us, THAT'S news.
Not that those "students" posed a threat or anything
I dispise MSM and the dims. Our country is headed for doomsday and they will let it happen at all costs.
Hmmmm, interesting take. Does the medication you take make you drowsy or hype you up?
If you all remember, from the intercepted letter from Zawahiri to AMZ, he asked AMZ to try and strike the U.S. mainland.
Without elaborating, it's been a side project of his (and his successor) for some time, and there have been some indications on the matter.
"Anyone willing to go to Iraq to fight American troops is probably willing to try to come to the United States," Clarke said.
Another excellent point. In fact, it would be much easier to recruit people for suicide attacks against the United States than against Iraqi targets. Word has gotten out that many of the shaheed who travelled to Iraq were used to blow up Shia markets and mosques, not American convoys, like they were promised. One of the major detriments to recruitment, in fact. If they had a clear passage open to the U.S., and a way to exploit it, they'd have a much easier time recruiting "drivers" and suicide operatives.
It's a lot more complicated than people realize, to move suicide bombers. Even getting them to Iraq is tricky. Getting them to the U.S. is several times harder. Still, it's not impossible by any means. They just need a path to use, 20 bodies wide.
OMG, you guys are so funny! Keep laughing.
Note that date of arrest. Less than six weeks ago.
Don't fret Steel Wolf, you and your war critics can never have bad news, for all the bad news is good news for you!
And the President will never "look good" again, of that you can be assured.
Don't worry, be happy!
No surprise here.
"Now you've done it, (conspiracy)heads will be exploding over at DUmmyland."
OMG!!! Exploding liberal heads!!! That's their plan!
Reminds me of the adage, "If brains were dynamite, most liberals couldn't blow their nose."
VOICE WITH MUZZIE ACCENT: "Attack? No, no, no. That word does not mean attack. It means struggle. Islam is a peaceful and tolerant religion. You have no reason to fear us."
Drudge is just google in black and white.
I don't see why this is any more threatening than any other terror plots. Unless the media want to use it to alert colleges and universities to pay attention. /s
Something seems kind of fishy about this story.
MSU Fall semester didn't begin until September in 2006 [like many schools]. Yet, the alert concerning the "students" came in August, one month before classes even began?
Here's a link to MSU 2006 Fall schedule clearly showing classes didn't begin until September:
This is a ploy to swing Dems from Obama Hussein to Hillary....nothing else.
Quite a few incidents with muslims being in sudden love with 18-wheelers.
Bwahahahaha ... I needed that good belly laugh. Thanks, but don't ever suggest you might be related to the Kennedys and thus related to Ted 'the Swimmer'.
Bush caused the war in Iraq.
The war in Iraq caused insurgents. (AKA "Freedom Fighters")
The continued war in Iraq has the insurgents justifiably enraged.
The enraged insurgents will attack the US.
Therefore it is obviously the fault of George Bush, Donald Rumsfeld, Condi Rice and Dick Cheney.
Anyone who can't see that is being "willfully" blind.
Reply again after you graduate from kindergarten and can manage a substantive response.
"Well, Why don't we run back home so they can just follow us and wreak havoc in our streets" - The Democrat Party
The majority party in Congress now want America to lose and for our citizens to die as they did on 9/11.
All in the name of power...shameless bastards.
NBC news will probably try to send Joe Wilson over there to tell us they were fake documents.
Good thing we didn't let in 10,000 Saudi Students this fall.
Oh yeah.... we did.
I guess I'm the only one who thinks that the ready.gov commercials have been on a bit more frequently.
Documents seized six months ago.
"My only guess would be that ABC "News" is revealing this as a misdirection aid for the Insurgents. Be warned."
I doubt that is true. But if it turns out it is, some citizen may need to start taking matters into there own hands..............by forcing the government to do its job of course.
" The six students who did arrive for the month-long program of English instruction and U.S. history and culture "are doing fine under the circumstances,"
Oh the horror! If we hadn't attacked Iraq, the insurgents/terrorists wouldn't be planning this attack, there would be peace in the world, and everyone would be served milk and honey.
Makes sense to me they would put the school on alert before hand .. because even though, school starts in Sept ... many students arrive earlier to get set up with their rooms, classes and books
I'd say Drudge is a bit late with the siren.
What..... not real?.....TV show?
But dear Nancy assured us that there was no Al-Qaeda
ABC News, however, has learned new details of what remains a classified incident that has been dealt with at the highest levels of government.
People are SHOT for divulging details of "what remains a classified incident"..holy crap, how in the HELL can ABC get away with releasing classified information with impunity?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
I wonder if this is why we are seeing a surge in the number of Muslims complaining about stereotyping? Sorta laying the ground work to help get these people into the country by 'shaming' the U.S. so that less common sense is used by the transportation industry.
