Democrats' silence on jihad is deadly

THE SURGE is underway, and more rapidly than many of us were expecting. The influx of new troops into Iraq? No, of candidates into the 2008 presidential contest.

So far this month, Senators Hillary Clinton of New York, Barack Obama of Illinois, and Chris Dodd of Connecticut, plus Governor Bill Richardson of New Mexico -- Democrats all -- have formally launched White House campaigns (or "exploratory committees"). Already in the race were former senators John Edwards of North Carolina and Mike Gravel of Alaska, former governor Tom Vilsack of Iowa, and Ohio Congressman Dennis Kucinich.

Eight Democrats, eight would-be commanders-in-chief -- all running for president in a time of war. So which of them, on getting into the race, had this to say about the nature of the enemy confronting us?

"We are engaged in a war against an axis of Islamists, extremists, and terrorists. It is an axis of evil. It has headquarters in Tehran and Waziristan. But because of the unconventional nature of this war, it also has headquarters in cities throughout Europe and Asia and Africa and the United States of America, in cells that operate in the shadows but are prepared to strike us again as they did on September 11th, 2001.

"The enemy we are fighting is . . . totalitarian. It is inhumane. It has a violent ideology and a goal of expansionism and totalitarianism. It threatens our security, our values, our way of life as seriously, in my opinion, as fascism and communism did in the last century."

Can't match that assessment of the global jihad with the Democratic candidate who uttered it?

Good article. The dems also sat on their hands last night at the mention of 'victory in Iraq'! I am certain that the dem display did not go unnoticed by our enemies. Let's hope it did not go unnoticed by the American people as well!

Their silence echos the moderate Muslims rallying cries against jihad. Mohammed's mobs have a way of muzzling the weak-minded.

Lesser anti-truth, anti-freedom, anti-individual, anti-life collectives could join forces with the greatest collective in the history of civilization.

If only GWB could have pointed this out right at the time. But I suppose it would have resulted in a small riot in the House. He is above that sort of thing, and maybe this was not the venue for it. But maybe the GOP should use this as a weapon in 2008. Maybe if they had hit the Dems more on their defeatist attitude in 2006, the Repubs would have done better.

"...if she (Hillary) recognizes that the future of the civilized world depends on winning that war, she shows little sign of it."

These Liberals all have a blind spot a mile wide where National Security is concerned. I think we could fill the universe with what they will NOT admit about our imminent peril.

The Liberal posture on the WOT is incredibly naive and it frightens every American who even casually considers our situation. Personally, an hour of the day does not go by that I do not think of what is happening abroad and what the potential danger is to us in our own homeland. Why the perpetual anxiety??? Because here and now, the Liberal party in this country is actually fielding candidates for nomination to the next Presidential race who themselves have disparaged current policy in the WOT (on political grounds or whatever) or else do not address the issue directly at all. This, the Liberal leadership does with complete confidence that their candidates will not be challenged. Their expectation in this is as surreal as the idea that a candidate can expect serious consideration while ignoring THE practical and political issue of our age.

From the editorial:

Heading into the 2008 campaign, our political universe is still divided. On one side are those who see the Islamists as a nuisance to be controlled. On the other: those who regard them as an existential enemy to be destroyed. On the relative strength of those two camps, the next election may well depend.

Democrats' silence on jihad is deadly

Now why would the Democrats say anything about jihadists? It's become increasingly clear they are on the same side. Heck, even Imadinnerjacket has figured this out, while at the same time promising assuring that "the United States and the Zionist regime of Israel will soon come to the end of their lives." http://littlegreenfootballs.com/weblog/?entry=24115_Ahmadinejad-_Wise_Dems_Will_Prevent_Attack&only

The libscum think GW is the bigger threat, though. And maybe GW is to them. After all, libs and Imadinnerjacket have the same enemies: GW and a free and vibrant United States.

Of course. Dems are socialists and marxists. They support anything that the "downtrodden", "have nots", "underclass" does to the "oppressors". They SUPPORT the jihadists!

The dems are in bed with the Jihadists because they have the same enemy, the US. I have a son in Iraq and had another son there last year. I have more to lose than those jerk dems yet they want to "cut and run".

They lack humility and patriotism. They are a plague on this country.

Davis Hanson, Author, Ripples of Battle
An original look at those who want us to fail in the Middle East, both at home and abroad. The --This text refers to the Hardcover edition.

*********************************

Book Description
Though strange bedfellows, America's liberals and radical Muslims stand on suspiciously similar ground in refusing to condemn Islamis terrorism, in criticizing America and the West, and in opposing efforts to export captialism and democracy. As a former Leftist radical, Horowitz is perfectly placed to diagnose, and denounce the hypocrisy and danger of the American Left.

How proud you must be of your sons! Please thank them for their service to our country. These dims are too stupid to realize that their Kumbaya attitude in this war will never be forgotten by our troops and veterans and their families. It's not surprising tho--their only concern is how to get/stay elected. They can't see beyond the ends of their noses and haven't a clue what's in store if these evil people win.

We can always count on Jeff Jacoby, even if the Boston Globe is a rag--part of the New York/Washington times syndicate. The times the dims sat on their hands last night was appalling--following their leader. ? Wonder why the Pied Piper suddenly comes to mind...

I am certain that the dem display did not go unnoticed by our enemies.

Our enemies encouraged and endorsed a Dhimmicratic victory and takeover of the House and Senate during the Fall Elections of 2006.

They know that the Dhimmicrats will deliver a victory to them, just as they did in 1975 for the North Vietnamese.

"FR needs to run ads against these collaborators."

Could we do that?

LOL, I'd rather give my money to that, instead of the RNC and the house and senate campaign committees right now!!

I am so sick of my money going to Rhinos through these channels! They will get no more money from me for the forseable future and they know why!

It doesn't matter what any of the Dem candidates say or what positions if any they will take.
They will take the stage for the primary debates and one after another they will take to the microphone and rip on President Bush and accuse the Republicans of being corrupt and never lay a glove on one another.
And on and on it goes.

We'll be making any contribution directly to the campaign. I have my Condi bumper sticker ready--we can always hope!

Whoever says that the Democrats are silent on the fight against the islam fundamentalists has been unconscious for the last 6 years.

They, and their propaganda machine, the alphabet news organizations have been doing everything in their power to cheer them on and aid and abet them to win. Against the United States.

You can rest assured, that in the smokey backrooms of the republican party headquarters, they know that the coffers are low because we are finally feed up with the Rhinos and the faint of heart in our party.

They also know that if we can not find a fresh face to run as our presidential candidate, that we are doomed to failure in 2008.

Frankly, none of the candidates so far have what it takes to win imho. We need someone to get excited about. I still hope Newt will step in if no one else comes along. Newt will get my vote, if he does run.

Maybe the Dems should retire the donkey in favor of this critter:
