Democrats' silence on jihad is deadly

THE SURGE is underway, and more rapidly than many of us were expecting. The influx of new troops into Iraq? No, of candidates into the 2008 presidential contest.

So far this month, Senators Hillary Clinton of New York, Barack Obama of Illinois, and Chris Dodd of Connecticut, plus Governor Bill Richardson of New Mexico -- Democrats all -- have formally launched White House campaigns (or "exploratory committees"). Already in the race were former senators John Edwards of North Carolina and Mike Gravel of Alaska, former governor Tom Vilsack of Iowa, and Ohio Congressman Dennis Kucinich.

Eight Democrats, eight would-be commanders-in-chief -- all running for president in a time of war. So which of them, on getting into the race, had this to say about the nature of the enemy confronting us?

"We are engaged in a war against an axis of Islamists, extremists, and terrorists. It is an axis of evil. It has headquarters in Tehran and Waziristan. But because of the unconventional nature of this war, it also has headquarters in cities throughout Europe and Asia and Africa and the United States of America, in cells that operate in the shadows but are prepared to strike us again as they did on September 11th, 2001.

"The enemy we are fighting is . . . totalitarian. It is inhumane. It has a violent ideology and a goal of expansionism and totalitarianism. It threatens our security, our values, our way of life as seriously, in my opinion, as fascism and communism did in the last century."

Can't match that assessment of the global jihad with the Democratic candidate who uttered it?

I have that book and highly recommend it!! I also recommend reading 'Infiltration' by Paul Sperry for what it's worth.

I am certain that the dem display did not go unnoticed by our enemies.

Our enemies encouraged and endorsed a Dhimmicratic victory and takeover of the House and Senate during the Fall Elections of 2006.

They know that the Dhimmicrats will deliver a victory to them, just as they did in 1975 for the North Vietnamese.

"FR needs to run ads against these collaborators."

Could we do that?

LOL, I'd rather give my money to that, instead of the RNC and the house and senate campaign committees right now!!

I am so sick of my money going to Rhinos through these channels! They will get no more money from me for the forseable future and they know why!

Oh, I agree. That's why the DBM does not play the complete transcripts of Zawahiri, et al anymore! Everytime they go on a rant, it is basically nothing more than an endorsement for the democrats....LOL

It doesn't matter what any of the Dem candidates say or what positions if any they will take.
They will take the stage for the primary debates and one after another they will take to the microphone and rip on President Bush and accuse the Republicans of being corrupt and never lay a glove on one another.
And on and on it goes.

I think we could, that lib org called "move on" raises money and runs horrible ads against Republicans.

I say let's finally join the fight.

These spineless, gutless, politicians who support our defeat in Iraq, while giving aid and comfort to the enemy, are more dangerous to our freedom than Al-Qaeda. A plague on all their houses.

I had a call from the RNC and told the caller I was not contributing another penny until these losers start supporting our President and he said "You aren't the first one to say that".

We'll be making any contribution directly to the campaign. I have my Condi bumper sticker ready--we can always hope!

Whoever says that the Democrats are silent on the fight against the islam fundamentalists has been unconscious for the last 6 years.

They, and their propaganda machine, the alphabet news organizations have been doing everything in their power to cheer them on and aid and abet them to win. Against the United States.

You can rest assured, that in the smokey backrooms of the republican party headquarters, they know that the coffers are low because we are finally feed up with the Rhinos and the faint of heart in our party.

They also know that if we can not find a fresh face to run as our presidential candidate, that we are doomed to failure in 2008.

Frankly, none of the candidates so far have what it takes to win imho. We need someone to get excited about. I still hope Newt will step in if no one else comes along. Newt will get my vote, if he does run.

Obama's father was Muslim and he attended a Muslim school. That might have something to do with his silence.

Most excellent brief essay on the fecklessness (or worse) of Democrats. Kudos to Jeff Jacoby on this troubling observation.

Maybe the Dems should retire the donkey in favor of this critter:

Tony Snow was commenting on that fact to Hugh Hewitt this afternoon .. and Tony sounded truly astounded by the event.

Wow! Didn't the WH already know that the dems were invested in an Iraq defeat ..?? I'm stunned to find out they didn't realize this.

He sure had them squirming in their seats at times. What a damn sorry bunch of assholes they are. Don't know how else to attempt to put it politely.
