Hang in there, FRiend, I think you know that people here are not talking about you or other people who've been badly hurt. The damage from Katrina is only slightly less compared to the damage done to NO itself by the behaviour of very, very many lowlifes who just hammed it up for all the world to see. I turned away in disgust. No apologies.
Take care and God bless. I enjoy your comments.

After all this time, effort , money, and prayer has been poured in to Louisiana, has anyone heard a "thank you, whatever you have done or given, we appreciate it."

No worries, I can no longer worry about things I can't control. Things here will get better, and it's going to take alot of blood , sweat, and tears too get things done.
It won't be the same, but it will be BETTER.
I am blessed with family. Blessed with a great job, blessed with a new Grandchild. It's an old corny, wore out saying, when life gives you lemons, ya' got fresh lemonade.
Plus my therapist is cute lol(and my wife just saw that text and hit me in the arm!!!!)

No No No, thank you! I know the idiots out here , that get a free home and bitch about it. I have no complaints, no nothing. In our FEMA Trailer Park, my wife and I thank every FEMA official we see.
We are close too the FEMA people here. They have told me, they don't wear the FEMA jackets becuase people verbally abuse them or attack them.
DAMN THESE PEOPLE THAT DO THIS. If anyone is given a home for free and complains? KICK THEM OUT. The ungrateful idiots. I've had no problems with FEMA, NONE.

"It doesn't make no sense what he is doing. And now he's asking for more money for troops to go to Iraq." And your point is? You want the gubmint to bail you out? What have you done for YOURSELF to improve your situation over the last 16 months?????

Clearly my FRiend, you are the exception to what seems to be many FEMA-residents who are in no hurry to change their situation.
And like other posters have commented, nothing in this thread was or will be directed at you personally because if there is one thing which distinquishes you, it is the fact that you belong to FR, and clearly you are no dummy, your posts prove that - you're a thinking conservative and you obviously don't want a handout, you just want a hand *up* to get out of your predicament, I get that and I'm sure everyone else does on this thread.
What you are doing (rebuilding from your loss) is what real Americans do and you are to be commended.
Best,
MKJ

My hope and prayers are with you. I was out of power for almost 8 days a month ago and I thought the world was going to end, I can't imagine what you guys are going through.

It is true that FEMA employees often refrain from wearing FEMA clothing or "gear" in parts of Louisiana & Mississippi.
Harrassment and violence against FEMA personnel is an unfortunate but real concern.
P.S. I serve in an Emergency Housing Unit and we are all very proud that we can help people put a decent roof over their heads until they get back to a normal life. Take care and sincere best wishes and regards to you and your family.
