It's beyond my comprehension why many posters on FR are determined to return the Republican party to the pre-Reagan days when it was the perpetual minority. Ronald Reagan is the man who realized that in order to win elections, the Republican party needed the votes of the social conservatives and the NRA, in addition to the liberal Republicans. Driving out 2/3 of the party is not likely to lead to anything but defeat and that is what would happen if Rudy became the nominee. You all can scream all you want about "one-issue" voters, but if the Republicans don't have a candidate who is correct on life and the 2nd Amendment, they will lose.
