No you don't; you just claim to.

Rudy also ran as a GOP.

In N.Y., many GOP candidates have run on the GOP line, the Liberal line, the CONSERVATVE line, and many others as well. It's a way to garner the most votes.

I had succumbed to "pragmatism" and donated to Saxton, a "moderate" Republican. He couldn't even beat a completely incompetent Democrat with historically low approval numbers.

And, as you point out, Giuliani was here campaigning for him. So much for that strategery. Ideological surrender does not win elections.

Which is why, contrary to conventional mainstream media delusions, compromise in any form with the Democrats is a surrender.

Limbaugh, again, is absolutely correct (paraphrasing)...

'When the "good" compromises with the "evil'," the "good" always loses.'

Limbaugh says "moderates" are liberals. I believe him.

Liberals hate Limbaugh with a passion because he knows and says you can never make friends with them. They will stab anyone in the back (including other liberals) to get what they want.

The check pant country club Republicans go to their award dinners and cocktail parties with their elitist liberal friends and collectively snivel together about the conservatives and those terrible religious people.

It's called governing. Anybody unwilling to compromise, is unable to govern. The better question is what part of a candidate's positions and beliefs are not negotiable.

Caving in is not governing, it is surrender.

"They are not cheer leading, they just won't let you define Rudy for them, they will make up their own minds, they are intelligent voters."

Yes, they are. Rudy defines himself.

"Look, the writing is on the wall. These party firster hacks are too "intellectual" (just ask 'em) to be able to read it and comprehend it. They'll have to live it. Blackbird."

The national GOP has apparently decided to join the Democratic Party.

They will do so without us.

"While it's true that I invariably vote for Republicans, I never fool myself into thinking they'll be anything except better than their Democratic opponents. Those people who are hurt by such political facts of life are to be pitied. It's like a child's discovery that Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny aren't who they've been cracked up to be. To such conservatives, all I can say is: Grow up." -- Bert Prelutsky, October 25, 2005

There isn't a Brownback or an Allen or a Trancredo who won't make the same idiotic mistakes W made, from NCLB to Medicare Part D to signing McCain-Feingold. There isn't a Democrat who won't do ten times worse. Winning is job one, and you have to have a persona which can outshine, transcend and overcome the MSM's blitzkreig smear tactics, especially if the 'Rats run anyone with nationwide name recognition

And besides, it's wartime, no time for tantrums.

"And besides, it's wartime, no time for tantrums."

So, we should surrender to liberalism at home because it's "wartime"? We should continue to not have frontier defeneses because it's "wartime"? We should continue to tax the DOD to fund social programs ($9 billion last year) because it's WARTIME?

What a hollo excuse to continue down this path.

NoPardons,

The fact that Rudy could secure the Liberal Party line, in addition to the Republican one, and could not get the Conservative Party line is certainly something Rudy will have to discuss if he runs.
