Not long ago, I had the distinct displeasure of standing behind an able-bodied 30ish guy at the supermarket who was buying things I couldn't afford with an ACCESS card. After berating the clerk for not accepting it in payment of his two cartons of smokes, he loaded his shopping cart and pushed it out just in time for me to come through the line and see him climb into a late model car (which I also can't afford) and speed off.

Conservatives are going to have to find ways to counter all of the Left's methods. We should have our own ACORN and register our voteres, etc.

Maybe the next time this "living wage" crap pops up in some large city - in lieu of the more conservative city councilmen fighting it - they should raise the ante.
Instead of denouncing a mandatory $8 per hour wage (minimum) raise it to $28 per hour. Let the leftists deal with the aftermath of that.

We study this in world history during the unit on Rome. Once the government provides free bread and circuses for the masses, the masses will be able to hold the government in thrall through mob action and rioting to continue the subsidy. Eventually the government goes broke. End of story.
If the "tax eaters" are in ascendancy, we're over, too.
