Let him play his role as the earnest dissenter. Who knows, the US might have wanted out of Vietnam and he helped grease the skids. Who really knows. I do know he pops up and gains entre in all sorts of places not open to the Administration because of ideological or diplomatic constraints. He got his cred first with Vietnam, then the Sandinista government in Nicaragua with fellow lily liver, Rep Harkin, last month in Syria and now with Iran's version of Jimmy Carter.

I have faith in this president; he'll not leave office before pulverizing Iran's military infrastructure and nukes. He can't leave to chance especially after the RAT's took over and may very well give us a RAT president in '08.
That said, the president has no time to make the surge work and listen to Sadr's BS cooperation. He must accelerate the plans to pull off simultaneous wins in Iraq, fold Syria, save Lebanon, orphan Hezbollah and Hamas.

It would make a heck of a lot of sense to pull back to the borders right here and set up a couple of super bases with the blessing of the Iraqi Government. I am sure it would all ready done if not for the precariousness of the Iraqi government's position. It may be good and natural for them to see our protests. It's a signal they have to do or die, literally, with respects to gaining control over the population centers.
Win or lose, the die is cast, and the benefits from our incursion are many-fold. First and foremost the general population of the USA has gotten an up close and personal view of the cruelty of man outside of lands historically Christian. That softens the moral dilemma when asked to respond to a future provocation from the region. The Islamic revival going on right now is hell bent for leather. That point is indisputable. It's good that our people know exactly what kind of society you get with the absence of the presence of the teachings of Christ, essentially the absence of good will toward all men. Of course this blessing works both ways and many eyes have been opened in the region in turmoil as well.
I think those that vote for this POS are scum as well.
