[The issue is already having an effect on flood insurance rates. They're going up around the country . . .]

Al Gore met with representatives of leading insurance companies in the U.S. last year to discuss "global warming" and its effects on insurance rates.

This whole con job is about money--higher insurance rates, carbon trading, for-profit "green technology." Gore sits on the boards of assorted "green" companies.

The article said it has been rising for 18,000 years. The right question is what has been causing it to rise for 18,000 years? The answer- the Sun!

For some historical perspective, sea levels have risen on the close order of 400-440 feet since the last ice age (12-15,000 years).

What effect has seismic activity had on elevation benchmarks, in a century? Actually, determining sea level accurately, over a long period of time, is quite difficult.

How about the 1906 San Francisco earthquake?

I wonder if the San Andreas fault has anything to do with the change in land elevation in relation to the ocean.

If this is true then we should be evacuating our coasts, not urging people to buy dim Gorebulbs.

If this is true we should be relocating critical coastal infrastructure, not attempting to force a socialist economy on the world.

The gains to be won by fully embracing Kyoto, or twice or three times Kyoto, cannot mitigate this global disaster. We should plan for total global climate change now, and ignore the green communists- if this is true (we should ignore them anyway).

Yes, I had that in mind. With so much at stake, making predictions based on questionable data is ridiculous.
