When it comes to Democrat, these articles always say " failed to disclose"..... if it is a Republican, the article would say, "lied about their interest in." We have a kinder culture of corruption now.

The most interesting part of the USA Today article suggests that Pelosi's filing of a false report could be prosecuted as a felony

Don't worry, USA Today won't go too far from the plantation, they'll either come up with a rebuttal or at least "soften" the report in the near future. I don't expect any less of our MSM.

Yes, of course it is, obviously. Unfortunately, the same rule doesn't apply to Republicans.

Exactly. I'd be inclined to give Pelosi et al the benefit of the doubt as long as she made things right, but when Frist was found to have a similar problem, Democrats practically strung him up from the nearest tree - demanding he resign, be prosecuted, etc.

Does the foundation give grants? To whom? By what process?

Perhaps not a big thing, in general, but when powerful politicos can dole out large amounts of funds, their role should be disclosed, IMO.

Another example of the left screaming "Tax the Rich" while hiding all theirs in trusts and foundations. The rich turn out to be the not so rich average citizen.

The Rahm Emanuel and Amy Rule Charitable Trust was formed in 2002, when the Chicago lawmaker was first elected. The former Clinton White House aide and his wife, Amy Rule, are its only donors. Emanuel was an investment banker after serving in the White House.

The trust reported having $2,900 on hand at the end of 2005 after receiving $34,000 from Emanuel and donating more than $31,000..

During the past three years, Emanuel's charity gave nearly $25,000 to the Anshe Emet synagogue and school in Chicago, and $15,000 to the foundation run by former president Bill Clinton. It also gave $14,000 to Marwen, a Chicago charity that provides art classes and other educational help to low-income children. Rule is on Marwen's board.

How convenient. You take leftover campaign donations, etc. and set up your own charitable foundation so you can have your cake and eat it too. They get the tax deduction and probably receive some sort of administrative fee to manage it. And they can use it to promote themselves politically.

but this appears to me to be a case of pass enough laws and everyone's a lawbreaker.

To a certain degree that is true but consider this is a lawmaker we're talking about - one who established those rules - so the whole thing is dripping with irony. Add in all the "culture of corruption" claims made by Nancy and now you're positively awash in irony.

Will this be the lead of the CBSNBCABC evening news tonight?

Will this be the main story of Lou Dobbs tonight and become and hour long special on CNN?

Will this be the lead story, above the fold in the NY/LA Slimes and the Washington Compost.

It would if she were a Republican.

Pelosi spokesman Brendan Daly said Friday the speaker will amend her reports.

He said it "was an oversight" that she had not listed her position dating back to 1992.
