To generalize- The Shiia are the country bumpkins of Islam, the less worldly, more polytheist, less educated and are treated like crap by the Sunnis who are 90% of Islam

Alas, in Pakistan if you need a doctor odds are very good that he (or she) will be a "Sevener" (another element within the Shi'ite world).

Also, the Sunni, although a serious majority in the world as a whole are a dreadfully small minority in Iraq and Iran.

Now, concerning who is or is not a "country bumpkin" within Islam, it's something pretty hard to determine since, after all, about 99% of them qualify.
