I am not the one obliviously discussing hair styles while standing accused of disrupting an entire city.

Seems to me that the City Administration did all the disrupting.

They had other stuff like that planned. Among the stunts were: young men in "suicide vests on trains and buses, white powder being sent to people in the media and jets with the cartoon logo flying close to buildings.

Count me in as somebody who does not find this stunt funny, and does not think that the officials were idiots, I posted on a earlier thread about the Soviets in Afghanistan using booby traps designed to look like toys, this kind of stuff gives the terrorists ideas.

The idiots involved in this need some time in jail

Massachusetts, along with NY,NJ,CT and CA suffered the large majority of the casualties of 9/11.

New York, who by far had the largest number of victims also had the largest number the signs (56) No one there hit the panic button.

Just stating the obvious, that with your Spider-Sense tingling, you can tell when there is danger near.
Maybe you can help the police in the future. If they have a situation, they can call you and you can tell them if there is anything to worry about!

I liked the fact they did not take the press seriously.

I wish it happened more often, my only beef was that I did not find their material funny.

Should have talked about contemporary lite-brite designs and the impact it has on our culture.

FYI....from your haven in NC this looks like a big laugh.

No from anywhere this not only looks like, it is a big laugh. Sorry to have your government officials made fools of so easily. Perhaps you need to elect some with common sense. This has nothing to do with 9/11 and to equate it to such is a hyperbolic argument

GADS! WTF is it with you folks?

They are frightened, angry, and easily led.

A vast number of Freepers want to be scared.

I see that you joined after Y2K. You sure missed a year's worth of great threads about concentration camps, UN death squads, contrails, foreign troops massing in the US, etc.....

I am only blessed with Spock-like intelligince. No spidey-sense. Fortunately, commonsense not omniscience was all that was required for the tens of thousands of people in cities all over the US (except Boston) to determine that these mini-billboards posed no threat.

You are taking this way too seriously. The point is that no reasonable person would view a little neon sign as something of a threat. This probably started with one person making a phone call, then when the media caught wind of it it spread out of control like a wildfire.

Never underestimate the stupidity and vanity of the average American. This is evident in your tagline.

The funniest part is the various news shows putting these gizmos on camera with the three little lights representing the upraised middle finger blacked out.

Ahh, yes I remember. Those were great times. Remember how Bill Clinton was going to refuse to leave office, declare martial law, and declare himself King BJ???

Look I already posted a picture of what it looks like in the "daylight." Why don't you go back and find that before spouting off.

Yes, I missed that. My "plan" for Y2K consisted of listening to all my neighbors drone on about all their preparations.

If something bad had really happened, I just needed a gun. Everything else I knew exactly where it was.
