I'm ok, still trying to get in touch with the daughter. I left a message on her cell phone. I'm a nervous wreck!

There's now a tornado warning in Polk County, issued 7:56 am.

Not sure if we're still under to tornado watch, but it is relatively calm in Lakeland right now.

Also assorted unofficial reports of a LOT of fatalities on Fox at the moment. 7 in Lake Mack which isn't even the main area of damage in The Villages.

I didn't hear about that. Did FEMA eventually give the money?

Too bad mostly white people were affected. Otherwise, we would be able to enjoy another leftmedia field-day like the lingering demagoguery over Hurricane Katrina.

There are currently NO tornado watches - they've expired.

That's amazing. I live in Florida and when I woke up this morning, I thought everything was fine - there were no reports of this. I live in St. Augustine, which had heavy, heavy rain but not much in the way of winds.

The man on Fox said 7 deaths confirmed by the coroner, but he said "unofficially" there are many more.

Such an awful mess. OMG! Being from the Mid West, I know all about tornadoes. Just a terrible thing.

I imagine this will lead to tornado sirens being installed across Florida (Actually I've never heard one, living on the East Coast my whole life - one time I could have, I was in a basement auditorium judging a speech competition at Western Illinois University and never heard a thing.)

Agreed - it's really quite staggering how extensive it is.
