Now that's funny!!
LOL....you won !!!!!
ROFLMAO!
When I saw that pic, my first thought was, "What's keeping the bears from just jumping in the water and swimming to shore?" Don't people realize polar bears are excellent swimmers? duh
ROFLMAO!
Gee, Am I to believe that those bears have been standing right there on that spot while the ice has melted from a frozen plain of ice into a miniature iceberg?
Duh, those bears are hunters, that they saw that ice as a nice vantage point and climbed up for a look around.
The plane was flying over the northern shores (southern Ontario).
LOL, that is a classic.
In just the last year White said he has noticed a significant shift in media coverage of the subject.
"The reporting is better because I don't see the 'other side' anymore."And the polar bears make good ammunition - when the caption is inaccurate, of course:
White isn't averse to using elements that people can grasp and relate to, like vanishing sea ice and what that means for polar bear habitat and survival.
"Scientists miss that, " White said. "Many of my colleagues complain that it's all about polar bears -- it is all about polar bears, it's all about seals. You use the ammunition you have."And they basically admit to exploiting Hurricane Katrina, too.
White also said Hurricane Katrina has been a major influence on the press's new focus. While it's impossible to say conclusively that global warming is to blame for Katrina's strength, White said, the storm was nonetheless a huge catalyst for a growing press interest in warming and rising seas and their effects."I've come to appreciate the power of these seminal events," White said. "These are galvanizing events that focus people's attention on the problems."
Oh man, that's funny. Did you make that? Congrats.
So is the image of the mother polar bear and cub stranded on the ice accurate or not? Regardless of how the chunk was cut away from the main icefloe, I would hate to have the two bears die from drowning or starving to death floating around.

In Toronto it's been -15 C (er...that's around 0 F I think) for the last two weeks.
Believe me, there are many Canadians who can't wait until this global warming thing starts.
But that water is so c-c-cold!
Polar bears swim. It's what they do.
I'm wondering how sincere these folks really were when the rally cry was "Save the Seals"?
LMAO!!!
Where some explorers are, the ice is as beautiful and dense as ever.
