Pelosi 49% Favorable, Other Congressional Leaders Panned by Voters(Baloney)
Rassmussen Report ^ | February 5, 2007

Posted on 02/05/2007 2:41:58 PM PST by Kaslin

America’s Congressional Leaders may be well known in their home town, but unknown to most Americans.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D) is viewed favorably by 49% of American voters and unfavorably by 40%. That’s an improvement from a month ago when 43% had a favorable opinion of her. Those figures also give Pelosi the highest name recognition of anybody in the Congressional Leadership ranks and make her the only Congressional Leader with a higher favorable total than unfavorable.

If 49% of Americans have a favorable view of this dingbat, we are finished as a nation.

Indeed we are. Her favorable rating is probably less then half of 49%

I'm surprised it's not 100%! She's so popular! ~sarc Actually, when you get down to it, her "handlers" are being very careful as to not allow any negative press or unflattering pics released on her. (The lack of negative press is the easy part.)

I'll bet this is accurate. Look at all the favorable publicity she has gotten! She is a loving grandmother, a faithful Catholic, an accomplished woman of great charm. Who could say otherwise--when all most Americans really care about anyhow is the Super Bowl and American Idol?

If, according to Rasmussen, President Bush is at 44% after six years, and Pelosi is at 49% after six weeks...

We should be feeling pretty good.

Pelosi? 49% -- for doing what for America? NOTHING.
-- but what other strategy do useless socialists have in this country??

Certainly nothing FOR America and its citizens. God forbid should one of them stand for anything but socialist power and control....this poll is a sham because it was taken most likely in downtown New York City....or San Francisco.

Yeah, but even with the president being at 44% Rasmussen is still oversampling the rats

I tend to believe this number, and I think you're correct.

You may be absolutely correct.

Mostly this is an excellent example of how the press distorts a 5% difference...one is "High because everybody just loves Pelosi" while the other is "Practically the worst ever in the history of the entire world and we mean it because EVERYBODY hates the President."

The funniest part is, that's putting their own ingrained distortions aside and using their own numbers!

Agreed. But I would also say that if she has this high
of an approval rating, the Republicans (including the
president) are not doing their job.

I TOTALLY agree with your assessment. Congressional Republicans seem to have learned nothing from the '06 elections.

"If 49% of Americans have a favorable view of this dingbat, we are finished as a nation"

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: The Oprah Winfrey/Doctor Phil/The View bunch of women will vote for ANY woman for ANY office, simply for the female representation. This segment, coupled with the straight-D voters in the voting booths, coupled with the entitlements' recievers who vote for the socialists, makes the Democrat getting at LEAST 45% of the votes in a National election or popularity contest, and it's EXTREMELY difficult to expect the Hildabeast NOT to win in 2008 for that reason.

A nuclear weapon or two detonated in a American city will change that perspective radically. Unfortunately thats what it will take.

It's just name recognition from massive media hype...if the people polled really knew anything about her, that score would be in the negative column.

I'm having a bit of trouble figuring out which polls to believe these days. Apparently, we're *not* supposed to believe a poll that gives Pelosi a 49% favorable rating, but we are supposed to believe a poll that at a 33% support level, a New York mayor is our best prospects for a presidential candidate. Was I supposed to believe that 2003 poll that showed Howard Dean and Dick Gephardt on track to win the Democratic nomination?

Anyone who doesn't understand that Mrs. Pelosi is running for president just doesn't get politics.

This cozy little 49% announcement comes right on the heels of Hitlery's less than stellar trek to Iowa last week and goose-egg jokes about evil men. Mrs. Pelosi is not now nor never has been married to a scumbag. Mrs. Pelosi's children have never been photographed drunk in the back of limos. Mrs. Pelosi always wears ladylike clothes, Mrs. Pelosi's sexual preferences have never been questioned. Mrs. Pelosi has her finger on the pulse of the people, a tight grip on congress, and endless access to a pile of major money without wasting time fundraising.

Mrs. Pelosi is too busy to campaign, of course, but just wait for the spontaneous paid demonstrations to start on the floor of the Democrat convention. Good golly, Miss Molly, none will be as shocked as Mrs. Pelosi.

Mr. Pelosi will be dumbfounded. He'll never take a smidge of credit nor a moment in the limelight, but he is, I'll wager, paying megabucks to pollsters, ward bosses, and those spontaneous demonstrators -- not to mention a gaggle of journalists who can hardly wait to write laudatory fluff pieces about Mrs Pelosi whenever licquored up on Mr. Pelosi's expensive single malt, undoubtedly flowing in veritable waterfalls from California to the NY island (this land was made for Nance and me, tra la).

Back in San Francisco, Mr. Pelosi and Mr. Blum, investor hubby of DiFi, are surely whipping out paperwork for their subsubsubrosa corporations working in the shadows to get their mitts on the entire Bay Area, tomorrow the state. I'll betcha by now you COULD buy the Golden Gate Bridge from them, as I'm almost positive they own it already. The GGB has one foot in the Presidio, you know, that old Army base built on the most glorious swath of view property in Baghdad by the Bay that recently was released by the Army and is now being ever so delicately raped by developers, one acre at a time but not so anyone would notice.

The point is, Mrs. Pelosi is positioned incredibly well to take over the world. Just you watch. My woman's intuition felt a mighty shift of gravity the day the Rats won congress. Hill started circling the drain, Nance's mountain is lifting her every day until the final volcanic eruption at the convention. The sky's the limit.

Isn't THAT a bummer?
