Geez, why don't they just name it Edsel and get it over with?

Because an Edsel was never based on a Volvo Chassis and have 5 star crash rating right out of the box.

My guess is the named it the "Five Hundred" to have names that all started with "F" as in Focus, Fusion, and Freestyle.
