Skip to comments.Out of Control: Chris Matthews Drops F-Bomb In MSNBC Rant Against Bush
Posted on 02/07/2007 8:41:26 AM PST by RatherBiased.com
"Hardball" host Chris Matthews lurched even further off the deep end on Wednesdays "Imus in the Morning." After praising the great job Rudy Giuliani did in cleaning up New York City which Matthews again suggested was done with just a pinch of fascism the MSNBC star went on a rant declaring how hes sick of southern guys with ranches running this country.
Losing control, Matthews dropped the F-bomb on national television: I want a guy to run for President who doesnt have a fucking Im sorry, a ranch. As host Don Imus began to snicker, Matthews plowed ahead with his Democratic talking points: Wouldnt that be good, Don, a guy who wasnt on the ranch during Katrina, he was on the street corner answering questions?

Radio listeners were spared Matthews cursing, but no such luck for those watching the MSNBC simulcast. After saying goodbye to Matthews about three minutes later, Imus and his crew mocked their MSNBC colleague. MSNBC's on-screen file photo of Matthews was altered to include a black censor bar over his mouth. Executive Producer Bernard McGuirk suggested Matthews was the sort who would put on a diaper and drive 900 miles to abduct Dick Cheney or somebody, and someone else offered that hes crazy.
Imus was the diplomat: But isnt that what we like about him? I love his energy, his passion.
Heres the transcript of Matthews comments, which happened at about 7:45 ET.
We love good mayors because we love our cities and Giuliani is the city guy, and Im so sick of southern guys with ranches running this country. I want a guy to run for president who doesnt have a fucking Im sorry, a ranch. Wouldnt that be good, Don, a guy who wasnt on the ranch during Katrina, he was on the street corner answering questions?
I'm wondering if "put on the diaper" is going to enter the national lexicon like "going postal."
Time for in-house rehab wouldn't you say?
MSNBC is unwatchable... It would rather watch an MTV "My Sweet 16" marathon than just 5 minutes of ANYTHING on MSNBC.
"Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." - Manuel II Palelologus
Chris needs to resign.
Was Matthews drunk when he called in? He certainly wouldn't be the first.
What a complete and utter baffoon.
Imagine that, Pissy Matthews with a potty mouth. Who would have thought that?
So, whats the FCC violation fine going to be?
What's the difference - at a ranch, on a boat off Nantucket, on a ski slope?
Does anyone have the quote Peter Jennings made some years ago to the effect that "It's not news until we say it is."
Ought to just change his name to Chris Olberman and ride off into the sunset. 'Course he'd have to steer clear of any southern ranches when he does so.
Matthews oversimplifies everything, and he lost all credibility with the"fascism" comment. As far as the ranch - whi CARES? Would we be better with "Mrs" Clinton and her 2 million dollar homes? Funny that Chris didn't mention any of the democrats involved in the Katrina aftermath - also, as if the president of the united states is going to be "on a street corner" asking questions! I guess President Bush should come to my hometown and address the pothole situation as well?
I'd rather have a president who rides horses than a president that rides whores.
Chrissy Boy has graduated from BDS to RDS: Ranch Derangement Syndrome.
Matthews lets the cat out of the bag on this one.
He wants an academic urban socialist who can fix things with other peoples' money; not someone who actually works for a living and earns it
What a contemptible scumbag
Liberals are really vile people. If you doubt it, go to the daily Kos website and read through some of the posts. They can't restrain themselves from vulgar language.
Yes, it will. We already know plenty of people in diapers and they don't normally drive very far. They are at DU and in the MSM.
Matthews: "I think I said something like that on my show once.
Imus: "Yeah, your show, but nobody watches your show.
Matthews: "Would you stop?
Imus: "I actually have several million people that advertise that I can lose as a result . . . Theres something wrong with you.
Apparently, Imus' national radio show which airs with a tape delay "beeped" out the expletive, but MSNBC did not catch it.
Earlier in the interview, Matthews said he likes Giuliani and thinks he could win the presidency in 2008. He qualified praise for Giuliani by saying, "but there's a little bit of fascist in him."
