I've often said that airlines should offer pork rinds along with pretzels, etc.

A little dab of bacon fat in your hollowpoints in case things get squirrelly over here.

You are correct. After giving my eyes a long rest, I can now definitely see that it IS a finger brace or something like that, so my apologies for doubting you on that.

Still doesn't mean that this is a real video from a real Cavalry trooper actually serving in a war zone. Someone on another site said that the hat isn't issue gear; that it appeared to him to be a civilian design from one of the pseudo-military gear catalog houses.

I do hope it can be proven a fake; I actually approve of the basic sentiment and would love to see it carried much further officially. But given the politically correct ROE, this video, (real or not), IS going to cause political problems, and if the DoD brass track it down to a specific soldier, he is going to regret it.

Hell I don't care if it fake or not. It's something we should have done from day one.

This needs to be implemented on a wide scale. In 1857 the British introduced a new rifle to their colonial troops in India. The rifle used paper cartridges that were waterproofed using pig lard, and the soldiers had to bite the end off the cartridge before loading it. A bunch of superstitious muslim troops in the north refused to use the new cartridges because it meant putting pig in their bodies. So they revolted against their commanders.

Muslims don't like dogs, either. Just have some K-9 patrols on the buses.

Heat up some bacon grease and dip your barrel brush in it. Lube the barrel. Wash, repeat, rinse.

One ammo manufacturer was selling 'em pre-lubed therewith.

Wish I still had that ad...

As an interesting side story, John "Blackjack" Pershing's original moniker was "N*gg*r Jack" as he commanded black troopers. The press cleaned this up to "BlackJack."
