Battle also said the Justice Department will not be filing criminal charges against any of the 15 gun dealers targeted by Bloombergs 2006 lawsuits over alleged straw man purchases. Such operations lack proper law enforcement authority, Battles letter stated.
IIRC, two of these gun dealers settled with Bloomberg and are allowing some kind of inspection or oversight of their operations. They should tell Bloomberg to go screw himself and refuse to cooperate with any further inspections. And then sue his sorry ass.
Wow, what a concept. The Constitution finally being followed.
Bloomberg should be prosecuted criminally for this stunt, but since he's one of the "People Who Matter", there will be no consequences for him. Maybe one of his "investigative agents" will be thrown under the bus, but even that's not real likely.

I am shocked!!! This is too much to handle!!! Support for the Constitution -- why, the framers are rolling over in their graves, CHEERING!!!
bump
The headline, tho word for word, is really misleading. It sounds like Bloomburg got an attaboy from the justice department or SAF.
Not your fault, Ed. You did well.
Bump.
Government protects its own turf. If anyone is going to be running spurious sting programs on otherwise lawful businesses, it's gonna be the Feds, and ONLY the Feds.
Amazing, isn't it?
Every one of those 15 gun dealers ought to sue Bloomberg and his little band of thugs. I'd love to see some jail time thrown in as well, but I doubt that will happen.
Do they have grounds for a lawsuit here to relieve ol 'Bloomberg of some RINOBUCKS?

Perhaps. However, I wonder how many people actually consider him to be one of the 'People Who Matter.' Maybe there are a few folks in high places who'd be willing to throw him under the bus as well.
What we need to do is flood the DOJ with letters demanding that Bloomberg and every one of his minions be prosecuted. I'll be working on my letter this weekend.
Thanks. The Mods get a bit fussy if you edit headlines ;o)
Bloomberg and his little private army of Gestapo investigators should all be in Federal custody - NOW. If we did what Bloomie did, we'd get more than a nasty letter, that's for sure.
Exactly. Bloomberg and his investigators need to be prosecuted for making straw purchases.
There's an article in the NY Sun today: Despite DOJ Decision, Gun Cases Will Go Forward. I don't remember if we can link or post content from the NY Sun, but you can access the article's link via the NRA-ILA's website: www.nraila.org/News/Read/InTheNews.aspx?ID=8886.
I'd love to see them take every last dime that he has.
You bet. That's been one of my b*tches since day one.
And that's on the Federal level. Undoubtedly they broke countless state and local laws too with these illegal straw purchases.
Bang
Sounds good. Who do we need to call to get the complaint rolling?
