Three Italian women were brutally attacked while vacationing on a resort island off the coast of West Africa, dragged into the woods, pelted with stones and left for dead at the bottom of a hole, the sole survivor said Saturday.

As long as you understand that stones=Muslims is just that, a guess. And a poor one at that.

The guess is questionable only because of Cape Verde's Protestant/Catholic-dominated demographics, not because Islamics don't lead the world by a wide margin in stonings (which they do).

If this guy was angry at one of the women for having an affair with him and then dumping him, a so-called crime of passion, then this was kind of rough on the other two women. Maybe a hatred of women in general, or a racial motive, as well.

I want to know if the jilted boyfriend was of a longer term or was a short term tourist girl's fling.

When my wife and I lived in Crete one summer, we watched all the Brit and Euro girls go after the local Greek guys. Lots of rapes and gang bangs occurred.

Go ahead and vacation, but never take up with the local guys. EVER! See Aruba and the Holloway girl. Western girls just assume that good looking local guy is just an exotic version of the guys back home. But reading people from another culture is never that easy.
